    Now, I will admit that I do have concerns about this escalation of weaponizing governmental authority. Just because we see it done from the other side doesn’t mean that an eye for an eye is the solution…

    @LuFins-Dad

    I’d like to know more about the warning. One piece I read said it came the same day as the event. Who received the warning? The hotel manager? What’s he supposed to do with a few hours notice for an event he doesn’t control?

      If parents are fine with the taking their kids to this, it's hard to make the government step in as morality police.

      The other side will cry out censorship, free-speech violations, etc. etc. I don't see what this crack-down actually achieves practically or politically.

        Again, if I take Finley into a burlesque show, I will be tossed on my ass or the burlesque show would be shut down. I can’t take him into an NC-17 movie, either. State and Federal governments can and do interfere all the time in these matters. But since this involves the Alphabet Soup it’s all good…

          For the latter just read the excitement in this thread or, even better, the replies to the original tweet. For the former, probably nothing, like many of his other culture war stunts, but by the time they get walked back nobody is paying attention anymore.

            And let’s be clear, the issue isn’t that they had the show. The issue is that it was originally designated an all ages show, then begrudgingly moved into a rated R status and the show happened with minors in attendance.

            My issue is the lack of clarity of who “they” are. The show has a producer and the venue has a manager and an owner. None of those three entities are Hyatt.

                Yes. The immediate objection that the move would put $5B of debt onto a small municipality turned out to be true.

                  They also have a new CEO and new DeSantis Allies on the board.

                    The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

                      Well, since strippers are being kicked off of PTA’s and aren’t allowed to volunteer at their own children’s schools but drag queens are recruited, what do you think?
