It is just insane crazy what the Khmer Rouge did. I was able to attend a talk given by Nate Thayer, who was the "Far Eastern Economic Review" magazine reporter who tracked down and "found" Pol Pot in the jungle in 1997 and interviewed him. Quite an interesting talk on the Khmer Rouge and what they did when they controlled the country from 1975-1979 and how they managed to survive and control part of the country for a few decades after that. (Nate Thayer just recently died.)

When historian two hundred years from now talks about past US presidents, President Biden will be one of those president who was just "there". No real impact, good or bad.

Very cool. On the same thing, here is the model of Hogwarts that they used to shoot some of the overhead scenes. It is in a big room in the studio north of London, UK. [image: 1679360156656-vacation-2015-london-119.jpg]

@Jolly Well, thank you! Yeah, might have to do something soon. Might need to find a nice cheap used one.

We went a few times when we there 20 years, ago, but it's been so long. The obvious CN Tower and Niagara Falls are what spring to mind, and The Harbourfront was a nice stroll by the water. The thing I really remember about Toronto is that it was always either far too cold or far too hot, however if she grew up in Chicago that might not be such an issue Niagara-on-the-Lake is a nice little touristy town. Both it and Niagara Falls are about a 90 minute drive as you have to drive around the lake.

Blue sky today, sunny, feels good... lots of snow waiting to melt, though. Saw and heard lots of geese flying... all weather apps aside, the birds will tell you when the season is getting ready to change.

@jon-nyc He should be okay. I would be very concerned about Trump’s sanity if he used capitals and underlined every other phrase to emphasize what considers to be a point. At this point I am just concerned with his maturity.

@Mik said in The Breathalyzer: There has to be a balance between rights and responsibilities. I'm afraid we have tilted far too much toward rights here. I don't necessarily approve of what I'm viewing here, but I suspect like most things in the modern press it is intended to outrage more than inform. +1

True. But even good farmers live on the razor edge of profit or loss. Amateurs? Destined to fail.

Over a thirty year period, my hospital saw approximately the same number of patients, albeit with a pronounced shift to outpatient events. Our doctor numbers remained fairly steady, but with less residents and more staff positions. But we saw a marked increase in HR, various nursing desk jobs (InfCon, PI, etc.), HIS, and at least a half-dozen Clipboard MBA types from Admin, covering things like Joint Readiness, etc. None of these guys actually laid hands on a patient.

There's no need to pay bank or credit card fees if you have a phone. Call them and take a position and they'll drop them.
