@George-K said in Hey docs: Pericardial effusion: @Aqua-Letifer said in Hey docs: Pericardial effusion: No real bad underlying conditions, and he is getting better pretty fast, but they're telling him he'll need to change his diet going forward. If I had to guess, some kind of infection. I fail to see the importance of a dietary change, unless there's underlying heart disease or hypertension that they want to treat. Gotcha. Thanks a ton.

@Mik said in Sudan: civil war, evacuation: [image: 1682297541865-6a4f6030-310e-4650-bf6c-4755fdb1dec6.jpeg] A legion of horribles, hundreds in number, half naked or clad in costumes attic or biblical or wardrobed out of a fevered dream with the skins of animals and silk finery and pieces of uniform still tracked with the blood of prior owners, coats of slain dragoons, frogged and braided cavalry jackets, one in a stovepipe hat and one with an umbrella and one in white stockings and a bloodstained wedding veil and some in headgear or cranefeathers or rawhide helmets that bore the horns of bull or buffalo and one in a pigeontailed coat worn backwards and otherwise naked and one in the armor of a Spanish conquistador, the breastplate and pauldrons deeply dented with old blows of mace or sabre done in another country by men whose very bones were dust and many with their braids spliced up with the hair of other beasts until they trailed upon the ground and their horses' ears and tails worked with bits of brightly colored cloth and one whose horse's whole head was painted crimson red and all the horsemen's faces gaudy and grotesque with daubings like a company of mounted clowns, death hilarious, all howling in a barbarous tongue and riding down upon them like a horde from a hell more horrible yet than the brimstone land of Christian reckoning, screeching and yammering and clothed in smoke like those vaporous beings in regions beyond right knowing where the eye wanders and the lip jerks and drools.

@Jolly said in Jets get their man.: What does this do to the AFC East? I allows the AFC East fans to watch an old man past his prime who will complete some passes. Attendance in NY will go up a little.

@George-K said in It's Hot Outside: @taiwan_girl how much air conditioning is available in Thailand? If I were guessing, maybe 60%-70% in the city. In the rural areas, maybe a bit less. All the main shopping malls, etc and the more expensive apartments have it. For a non-AC studio apartment with a ceiling fan in an outlying area of the city, probably about USD$150/month.

QUOTE The poll was conducted April 17-19 with 915 likely U.S. voters and has a 3% margin of error UNQUOTE I would be curious to see the demographic of the 915 people survey.

It never ceases to amaze me that anyone, anywhere, would not know better than to misbehave on a flight. How many stories do you have to see to know that’s a 100% loser.

@Jolly said in Getting It Good & Hard: The last Republican mayor of Detroit was elected in the 1950's. I'd say Detroit went down a bit since then... Yeah, but look at Chicago. No question that there was all kinds of corruption, nepotism etc during the Daley (both of them) years. But Daley Jr did a great job of rehabbing the city. The Loop became vibrant, the city, at least the business and shopping areas, was clean. Rahm Emmanuel (remember him?) almost seemed like a placeholder, but the city didn't go into the crapper. That started under Lightfoot, and it'll continue, I fear, under Johnson. The last Republican mayor of Chicago was "Big Bill" Thompson in 1931. Wanna talk about corruption??.

@Doctor-Phibes said in Do it!: liked Martin Freeman's portrayal of Watson the most of the ones I've seen. His frustration and exasperation with Holmes is very funny and understandable, and he's by no means played as being a dummy. He was in the show that I watched. He was quite good also.

I think that the strictest is the Swartzentruber Amish. I do not believe that they even allow cushions in their house, except on the beds. Make it uncomfortable to sit around, and people won't sit around - they will go and do something. LOL
