@Mik Good question. I read somewhere that in the US, the only government officials that have guaranteed use of a US plane is the President, Vice President, and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Others use them, but it is if they are available, or perhaps they get a ride on a military plane.

It's not just that he had an AR-15 illegally. When the deputies talked to him, why wasn't his illegal immigrant status known by them?

@jon-nyc said in OTD - Eleanor Rigby: It’s such a haunting song. I find the history of Beatles' compositions just fascinating. Once you get past the "pop stuff" of early Beatles, the later stuff is interesting. "Dear Prudence" was written about Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence. Apparently, she was on the excursion the Beatles took to India, where they hooked up with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. "Prudence" was really into all that stuff, and didn't want to participate in the "off hours" fun stuff. She was too serious, and too devoted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dear_Prudence "Savoy Truffle" was all about Eric Clapton's addiction to chocolate.

My prediction and multi $billion idea: Movies being recasted on demand using any face/body you want for any character. Don’t like “black Coleoptera”? Recast with any likeness of your choice. AI will do the substitution. @Mik can have his redhead Cleopatra, @jon-nyc can have his Aqua’s Sister Cleopetra, etc.

@Jolly said in Williamson: "No Democrat primary debates.": Robert Kennedy doesn't deserve a debate? Ted didn’t get one, and he was competitive, not just an attention seeking crank.

A child can pull a trigger just as easily as any adult. Ask any Vietnam or Afghanistan vet. Not saying the shooting was righteous, but it's dark, play guns look real in the dark and a sudden rush of cars into the neighborhood would make me nervous, too. Years ago, a bunch of kids were on my place without permission, engaging in a paintgun war. I scared the crap out of one of them, as I was trying to figure out what was going on...Staring into the business end of a shotgun can give a young man a religious experience. This type of behavior with nerf guns should have been nipped in the bud previously. You don't shoot at people running away. Culture. Culture. Culture

@Aqua-Letifer said in 30.: @Mik @Jolly Would it be more accurate to say that you see your kids as adults, or that there are adults walking around out there who used to be your kids? (Or, how would you put it?) My kids will always be my kids. Yes, they are adults and I really enjoy their company as adults, but they're still my kids.
