I don’t think anyone considers “banned” to mean the same thing in 2023 as it did back when the Christians were culturally ascendant (e.g., ‘banned in Boston’). But sure, agree on definitions first or qualify it (e.g. banned from the curriculum, banned from the library, etc)

This seems like a healthy dimension of competition for political parties to engage in.

A couple of well placed nukes would eliminate our ship building capability. And probably my house.

@Jolly said in Hay Cats! Your "Practice Firearm Safety" post of the day: I also don't see any dirt fly up from muzzle blast and I don't see the gun recoil when it supposedly goes off. Good catch.

Coonasses don't measure beer by cans, they measure by how many cases they drank.

@Horace said in How do you not see this guy?: @Aqua-Letifer said in How do you not see this guy?: When a pedestrian is killed by a motorist, nobody calls it a walking accident.

Biden's immortal "you ain't black if you vote for Trump" is a good example. White liberals are more than happy to call white conservatives evil if we have an opinion that supposes black people might be conservative. But they would be completely unequipped to have a conversation with an actual black conservative. And that's why those conversations never, ever happen.

And since the upcoming Turkish election was mentioned, it seems that the outcome may be of great interest to the Kremlin: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-65574312

What they need to do is bring in a huge number of people with MBA's who can then help to remove the administrators and other bloat. It works every time!

@Mik said in Musk Is Out: Agreed. he's just dumping off the stuff he doesn't like to do. My guess is he's moving on from running the company to interfering with the person who is trying to run the company.

The Russian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchy is thoroughly co-opted by the Kremlin and its secret police, the FSB. Not only Ukraine but in every country it operates parishes. That includes North America. The Patriarch Kirill himself was a KGB hood during Soviet times.
