@Axtremus said in High School Basketball "Superstar" - Sad Story: "No direct evidence." I will wait for more investigation to turn up more evidence. Also curious to see if the 2nd Amendment folks will start yelling "stand your ground" or "casa doctrine." Not enough details to make that claim. If they were driving away when he shot up the car, then the Stand Your Ground laws wouldn’t hold water. Besides, do they have STG and Castle Doctrine in LA? I bet no.

9:44 the debate about the supposed AI generated baby picture. I tried researching it and can find no legitimate news touching it. There are some sleepy looking Arab sites and Reddit threads that claim it’s AI, but the only article I can find that actually addresses the veracity is an article in the Anti Defamation League site. https://www.adl.org/resources/blog/generative-artificial-intelligence-gai-increasing-fog-war-between-israel-and-hamas I’ll score this to Shapiro. He definitely nailed the “theologian compassion” guy, too. Shapiro 3-0

The only people who seem to be concerned about this for the most part are a few academics and progressives, mostly white women. The aboriginal folks here are taking in it stride and generally accepting her for what she has given them over the years through her music and advocacy. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/buffy-sainte-marie-reaction-piapot-1.7011149 https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/be-gentle-with-yourself-indigenous-northerners-wrestle-with-legacy-of-buffy-sainte-marie-1.7014280

@Doctor-Phibes said in Remember when the GOP nominated men with character?: @Jolly said in Remember when the GOP nominated men with character?: Remember when the democrats nominated men with character? Jimmy Carter wasn't a man of good character? Yep, forgot Jimmy. Truman probably wasn't too bad, either. But that's the end of the list since about 1900.

Great people here all around. We are a good example for the world about how people of different backgrounds/religions/political thoughts, etc can have (usually) pretty well thought out discussions while keeping emotions to the side .

@LuFins-Dad said in The Wheel of Time: Frankly, I couldn’t get past Perrin being happily married. No, I didn't really understand the point of that. It would have been funnier if they'd had him married to a bloke. I guess the whole killing his own wife thing was put in to give a reason for his abhorrence of violence? Not really necessary. It's over 26 years since I started the books so I've forgotten some of the plot details, but that did seem a bit odd. I didn't really like what they did with Matt's character, either. Overall, I enjoyed it. I'm not particularly obsessed with the books or anything, I always saw them as a fun romp rather than high art.

@Mik said in CITI: Go paperless or lose online access: I'm paperless wherever I can be anyway. And I always hated writing and mailing checks. Same here. I used to sit at my desk twice a month, with a stack of bills, and shit. I'd put a pile of checks in the printer and mail them out. I don't remember the last time I bought stamps.

Interesting video. His point, to be stressed, is that he talks about non-diabetic patients. There are so many drugs/supplements being hyped: CoQ10, resveratrol, NMN, ect. This guy promotes creatine. I'll take a look and see what data he presents for its efficacy. As to me? Metformin got my HbA1C down to a good level (along with diet).
