I'd like to see the average age of those who took the buyout too. I suspect many of them are near retirement age and for them it may not make sense to spend the money to retool. It would take too long to recover it.

I don’t think you’re right about that. I kind of want it to pass so we can see it litigated.

Krugman vs. Cramer. Pioneering a new investing strategy.

Ah, nothing like an outhouse on a chilly morning. I guess you'd refer to that house as a 3/0.

It will never happen (at least during our living time) Probably not, but Texas is a unique state. They were a republic before entering the Union. Not sure if it is in the constitution or where, but isn't there are pretty big requirement for a state to leave? Something like 66% of the states have to agree, plus some other things. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/more-150-years-texas-has-had-power-secede-itself-180962354/

I thought it was the TV show "Simpsons" which was good at predicting the future. LOL

I think that's the point they are trying to make, that the melody predates the lyrics.

The best artists came in last. It is rigged in that people who can discern the best singers are unlikely to vote.

Cincinnati did this a couple decades ago and it has had immense benefits. Our riverfront is wonderful. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/north-coast-master-plan-cleveland-s-vision-to-connect-downtown-to-the-lakefront/ar-AA1lLcRg?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=71b4b085214046b5b63b849a284f96ba&ei=50

I have a friend who’s part of a club of people who go four wheeling on the beach near Pismo. The same commission put them out of business too. Oh, and it’s unelected, of course.

@jon-nyc said in 1512 (c)(2): Probably just retry everyone under other charges. If they wish. Which will make it look even more political. Since Dingy Harry changed the rules and Obama was very successful in placing judges on the Federal bench in D.C., can a Republican, especially a white Republican, get a fair trial in the most chocolate of cities?

@George-K said in Mountain Dew: "The UK prides itself on high food standards..." They wrote that with no sense of irony whatsoever. Still higher than yours, apparently. The fact that "Food and Wine" magazine is writing an article about Mountain Dew and Jolly Ranchers should indicate that the end times are upon us.

@Aqua-Letifer said in The Critical Drinker: Lord of the Rings at 20: As for the books, I'd love to take a walk through his old university stomping grounds and try to catch a glimpse of Minas Tirith. We might manage that - Mrs. Phibes has family near Oxford, and it's a wonderful town to walk around. I'd love to have a beer in The Eagle and Child.
