There’s a way in the App that I can change the distance settings. I’m still playing with it, because I do like the idea. Hey, I’m not perfect as a driver and I don’t mind an assist, but on a long slow curve, cars in the other lane will set it off. I don’t like that. The lane correction warning does not allow me to change the settings, which I find annoying as a guy that does hug the middle line a little. It gives me no leeway. I only use that for a long drive on the highway.

I wouldn’t take it out on JetBlue just yet. Half their business is ferrying Jews between NY and South Florida I’m sure they’ll do a proper investigation. Banning passengers (hence canceling their flights) that disrupt flights is a sound policy. The issue here, assuming his version is reasonably accurate, is that one or two flight attendants abused that policy with or without the pilot being complicit.

@89th said in I guess he didn't like the sermon?: Polite was wearing shorts over his pants, too. I'd be interested on how he got the weapon since he seems mentally challenged. If you've got the money, it's no problem. Just gotta know the right guy. Or you steal one.

I suspect earning your badges in scouting is a lot easier than it used to be, but I don't know. It was one of those things that wasn't broke, so they fixed it. We had a ball.

@Doctor-Phibes As with many things, the Brits have always looked down on European pop music. Probably with good reason. With notable exception of ABBA and a very select few others, it is shite.

@Klaus said in Plato's last hours: The whole Vesuvian scroll story is a completely insane human technology triumph. Makes me happy! And yet humanity has built an entire city at the base of the active volcano, again.

Israel. and insurance covers everything. And I know that it’s much harder to get things covered in the US. But hey, we are a rich country. Well, we were until we had to spend half the defense budget on a prolonged war.

I would always look askance at the creation of jobs which, when I was a teenager, made me consider whether I would actually rather commit suicide than devote my life to.

@Axtremus said in They never taught this in my medical school: @Horace Where do you see the claim of being victims of oppression in either video? An educational perspective might be, to imagine if a bunch of young white males had done the video, and the cultural backlash against that. Maybe you don't think there would be a backlash, and that's ok. I am here to educate, rather than to condemn. People are ok with venerating high status proctors of important truths, such as highly educated, intelligent doctors, until those doctors take that veneration for granted, rather than as something earned, as a continuing lifestyle of humble work.

I’m in Cocoa Beach now too. I would have heard that launch from the VRBO.

@Horace said in Yesterday's Concert - My fourth Ninth.: I think I've seen the ninth once in San Francisco. The conductor of this performance was one of Michael Tilson Thomas' students/protege's. From 2018 to 2023, Goodman served as an Assistant Conductor to the San Francisco Symphony, working alongside Michael Tilson Thomas, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Manfred Honeck, Daniel Harding, Pablo Heras-Casado, Simone Young, and James Gaffigan, among others
