Maybe he should also put them into police drug squads, too, for similar reasons.

Which plane caused the event? It’s hard to tell from the angle…I think maybe the far left plane as it looks like its wing hits the tail of the plane below it and also the nose hits the tail of the plane in front of it?

Quite an interesting article. I have hear of her before, and the thing I read about her before was saying that she probably was innocent, but I dont remember the details.

@George-K said in Air China: "Be careful in London": @Doctor-Phibes said in Air China: "Be careful in London": Comparing London to Chicago, Detroit and St. Louis is a bit much. London has a homicide rate of about 1.27 per 100,000. Chicago is 29.66, Detroit is 41, St. Louis is 87. Yeah, that's sort of my point. I wonder if China Air made similar warnings about these cities. Not so much any more, but there was (and maybe still a bit) of ignorance about western culture and locations in Asian countries. A lot of it is not intentional, but just because of lack of exposure. I think it is becoming better just because it is easier to get information today on other places. TV and movies were big ways people learned about the US. Growing up, the best selling toothpaste in Taiwan was a brand called "Darkie" and it had a drawing of a black person on it with smiling white teeth. I had no idea it was rascist. It was just a brand. Just ignorant. It is not unusual for Chinese tourists to be pretty culturally insensitive.

If MIT can make DEI go away, the political parties should be able to make Biden and Trump go away.

What the fuck is an unmarked vehicle? I’m pretty sure mine would qualify. Actually no, I have a scratch on the passenger side mirror.

@Jolly said in The Non-citizen Vote: Could also be area specific. Right, so you really need a broad geographical sample before you can make any kind of assessment. The 'Just Facts' assessment is really anything but that. There's an awful lot of words and assumptions, and not a lot of actual hard data. There's an engineering joke about marketing people deducing a trend from at most a single data point.

No, some people truly do no understand the dark belly of politics. They go blissfully along their way, not understanding or caring how the sausage gets made. Until they get gob-smacked by reality.

@taiwan_girl said in The Making of a Banana Republic: @Jolly That is as indirect as the quote I played from President Trump. So then, I guess that both candidates support abortion at any time. 555 (And I think we both know that is not the case. Neither of them do.) Don't always take what a politician says or does at face value. Pay close attention to what they do or what they try to do. Trump is pro-life. LuFin might argue with me because of Trump's softening on early term abortion, but that's pragmatic politics. If you can't get elected, you can't effect outcomes. Would Roe v. Wade have been overturned with Biden appointed justices? Biden is pro-death. He mumbles about being Catholic, but Jesus taught that you would be known by your fruit. Biden has put no brakes on the most radical abortion advocates among his supporters. His Just-us Department has criminalized several forms of protest against abortion. Some leaders in his party have even talked about letting babies die after they are born. His White House position paper is very clear: Thou shalt not intervene at any point in a woman's pregnancy to stop the abortion process. Now, what say you?

Austin is a blue dot in a red sea, and the campus may be the deepest shade of blue. Good school, though.
