15~20 years ago, when only computer nerds listened to music on computers (and we're talking about real desktop/laptop computers, not smartphones/tablets), the "visualizer" was sort of a thing. Popular MP3 player software (including iTunes) shipped with various "visualizer" modules that modulates colorful abstract lines and shapes using the music's being played as input. This is just a newer (and IMO somehow lamer) version of the "visualizer" concept.

@Klaus said in Powerful photo: I tend to agree, but if it's helping her cope with the situation I won't judge her. Some people feel better sharing such stuff. As long as it's not some disgusting narcissistic reason I'm completely okay with it.

You'll see who's on the right side of history in the coming famine and me with my built-in power packs. My body has stored more calories than you could ever possibly imagine.

@bachophile said in A Shaky Future?: @Axtremus correct but not exactly The mouth and nose and eyes don’t open directly into the skull. But in the base of the skull are numerous foramina (small holes) to allow passage of nerves and blood vessels in and out. So yes it would leak but not through a large orbit or open mouth. Interesting, I looked up the skull’s structure in the “Complete Anatomy” app and I see what you mean. Thanks.

@xenon said in Seattle City Councilwoman: @Copper naw, there are problems. Running a small biz is harder. Business formation is down. It’s easier for large companies to capture regulators. There are more parts of the economy becoming “winner takes all” It’s harder to hold down a blue collar job. Things are changing - and this creates resentment which in turn creates political instability. But again - none of the things above require you to tear the system down to tackle. None of that is even remotely true. In fact in every case you mention the law requires equality to be enforced, and it is. The largest corporations in this country are afraid of nothing more than being accused of racism against minorities. And you don't even have to scare them anymore, they are true believers.

I'll bet it was delicious, you have the gift, the touch, the desire! Even I like salmon. We have a lot here in the northwest. You can catch it yourself, with expensive fishing licenses. Or, go up the river to Cascade Locks or around there, where the Native Americans sell on the side of the road. They have no restrictions on how many they can catch and sell. Otherwise, the limit is 2. I went out over a year ago, and caught my usual 0.

Accredited diploma mills. Easy to pass courses when learning from home. Inflated grades, eventually a degree with less work. Why not? Thanks, Harvard!

@George-K said in "Stolen Land": @xenon said in "Stolen Land": I mean - isn’t the whole country “Indian "Native American" land”? Are people starting g to hand over property deeds yet? FIFY... But yeah, exactly. The entire continent is "stolen land." Be it by the British, the Spaniards, Portuguese, Dutch... well, the list is long. At least make your outrage consistent. I really and I mean really wish the Dutch would resteal it. All of it.

@xenon said in President Kanye West?: So Kanye's an idiot: On the topic of a potential covid vaccine: “It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralyzed. So when they say the way we’re going to fix Covid is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious. That’s the mark of the beast. They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven.” I keep picturing a guy inoculating little kids playing Iron Maiden in the background. FWIW, I've filed my taxes while listening to that album.

@bachophile said in Age cohorts of positive cases over time: @jon-nyc maybe. But even with transient Titer levels of antibodies, immune memory makes a big difference when there is a rechallenge of the immune System, antibody levels rise much more dramatically and quickly. Providing the antigens remain the same. So it is advantageous to have a some degree of previously infected out there. The reason we need a flu shot every season is that it’s a new virus each time. This corona virus seems a lot more stable so far. Any chance at attenuation? If so, how long can that take?

Kind of a weird situation. who "owns" the records? Vice President Biden or the school? It also seems that if they are public information, the people that want to see them could get them from other sources. Senate archive maybe? Other committee members? etc
