Works for motorcycles. Not sure why it wouldn't for bicycles.

• It'll have drawbacks. All designs have them in spades. What they are vs. the benefits will determine its long-term viability.
• Already I want to ask how freaking heavy that monster cassette is. Leads me to guess this would be better suited for ebikes.
• Like Mik mentioned, bicycle designers steal tech from motorcycles all the time.
