This one was my favorite. Luxe parking. I had very variable parking demand because I didn’t have my own car. https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN1BN134 I think they got something like $60M before they figured out you can’t charge $50 bucks for something that normally goes for $500

@QuantumIvory said in My bitch about masks.: FWIW... https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/04/commentary-masks-all-covid-19-not-based-sound-data Data lacking to recommend broad mask use We do not recommend requiring the general public who do not have symptoms of COVID-19-like illness to routinely wear cloth or surgical masks because: There is no scientific evidence they are effective in reducing the risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission Their use may result in those wearing the masks to relax other distancing efforts because they have a sense of protection We need to preserve the supply of surgical masks for at-risk healthcare workers. Sweeping mask recommendations—as many have proposed—will not reduce SARS-CoV-2 transmission, as evidenced by the widespread practice of wearing such masks in Hubei province, China, before and during its mass COVID-19 transmission experience earlier this year. Our review of relevant studies indicates that cloth masks will be ineffective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 transmission, whether worn as source control or as PPE. Well yeah this data would be handy wouldn't it.

The other thing that article does not provide is what went into the eventual cost. Sure, the machine may cost $1 million. How about supplies? People to run it? Overhead to gather, track, treat and return the masks to their owners? How many machines were purchased? It's just another hit piece. History tells us in the midst of an emergency you take some long shots. See the Doolittle raid.

He's joining AOC, Harry Reid, Bernie Sanders, and many others in making this shit up. Don't forget how they scam the Post Office and by extension the American taxpayer.

Actually, the OK Joe Bronco you mentioned is very interesting and may have taken over the lead. The UDS doesn’t do well with low and slow. Poor air flow control and you have to remove the food to add fuel plus there’s no grate for a flat surface. The Weber Bullet isn’t really built for hanging meats and may be a little short for ribs. OKJB Seems like the best of both worlds. Plus it’s made out of steel. I don’t really see myself taking my grill anywhere...

@Loki said in Tolkien or Antidepressant?: @Aqua-Letifer said in Tolkien or Antidepressant?: 23/24, bitches. (Guessed on 3-4 though.) Very Impressive. I’ve seen the movies multiple times and read The Hobbit out-loud but couldn’t retain any of the names...well at least the more obscure ones in the test. I've read a lot of the weird shit, too, which helps. The Lays of Beleriand was really helpful to me when I was getting my Master's, along with Auden's Age of Anxiety and the letters between the two regarding alliterative verse. When they came out I gobbled up The Children of Húrin, The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun, and Beren and Lúthien. A lot of the non-LOTR stuff, too: The Monsters and the Critics, his version of Sir Gawain, the Beowulf translation, etc. I also extracted all the songs and poems from the Hobbit and LOTR and made an eBook of them to read on my Kobo. Big damn nerd.

I think the Chinese should be invited to testify, but I think everyone knows it is just politics. The Republics have to know that the Chinese would never come even if there was an official invitation. Look at it from the other side - what would be the response in the US if the Chinese government invited the US to testify at their parliament? Both parties would be a loud "no".
