There was a surprise guest and thus no game-time during that meeting. Then the following week there was again no game time. I suppose I'll be on the hook but only if we ever do another game time. Nobody likes these game times during these meetings, but games are fun, and even if nobody has any fun, they are still fun. Just ask everybody professionally obligated to attend the zoom meeting.

Seems kind of dangerous to have all those other boats there. I would think that they would have a "no trespassing" zone for boats that are not associated with the mission.

I would agree that people want to work. 600 as a disincentive to work is not right. The real argument which I don’t know the answer is deficit.

@Mik said in Tik Tok: Sounds like after the fact bribery. Which the Chinese might actually respect. But Americans should not.

This is one of my main disappointments with Trump. I expected he would find ways to cut spending. The opposite is true.

Thanks! Just to hijack Phibes' thread further. Isn't that funny about the Oct 1st thing? Federal employees who give birth even as late as Sept 30 at 11:59pm get ZIPPY, but one more minute and BOOM, you get 3 months paid leave. Our first came 7 weeks early which, if it were to happen again, would be Sept 23rd. That would be t3h sux0rs!!!!!!!1 <knocks on wood>

https://nypost.com/2020/08/03/de-blasio-admits-city-skipped-permit-process-to-paint-blm-murals/ City officials ignored their own application process for public art projects to paint Black Lives Matter murals around the five boroughs, in order to mark an important moment in history, Mayor Bill de Blasio said as his administration faces claims of First Amendment violations for refusing to green-light other proposals. “We haven’t said ‘no’ to people, we’ve said, ‘If you want to apply, you can apply, but there’s a process,'” de Blasio said during his City Hall press briefing Monday. The pro-President Trump group Women for America First has sued City Hall for blocking a mural of their slogan “Engaging, Inspiring and Empowering Women to Make a Difference!” on a Manhattan roadway, while allowing multiple BLM paintings throughout the city. Hizzoner insists he didn’t block the move, just referred groups like Women for America First and the pro-police Blue Lives Matter to the Department of Transportation’s permitting process. But there was no approval required for the BLM movement.

His recording of the Beethoven concertos with Szell and the Cleveland was my favorite for years. The sound isn't great, but the playing is wonderful. His influence will live on through his teaching as well as his performances.

This reminds me of a sketch on BBC radio with Jacob Rees-Mogg defending the Conservative treatment of healthcare workers. He responded to the accusation that the Tories hasn't provided enough support by pointing that he'd been out every Thursday applauding them - sometimes for as much as 20 minutes.

@Axtremus said in 60%: @Horace said in 60%: If CA seceded, it would take about 45 seconds before the high status progressives fled in terror, realizing what they're surrounded with and who's responsibility those masses now are. Will @Horace flee, in terror or otherwise, if CA seceded? If so, how quickly? I would follow the job, as I did when I arrived here. Would the businesses flee? So many details we'll never know. For CA will sadly never secede. The most interesting reality about it is and will always be, that particularly clueless progressive Californians genuinely want it to happen.

That is a neat article. I love ants. I think that they are very interesting creatures. If you are interested in a really, really, really deep discussion of ants, there is a book that I got as a gift a few years ago. Ants - by Holldobler and Wilson [image: ?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.oGrBT4dOxHxqcLSaz28CFwHaIp%26pid%3DApi&f=1]
