Uhm, that’s not a car, just a personal helicopter. How much time and money went into building something that flew around a 100 meter block in only slightly less time than could walk it? Did look very “Star Wars” though.

@George-K Maybe a dumb question, but what the "science" definition of anesthesia? I always thought it was something to put you to sleep or stop pain. So, if you have a higher pain threshold, would you need less?

Wow that guy is really over thinking this. The surgeon wanted to have a giggly little moment with the CEO by letting him do a neat-o thing that he wasn't supposed to do. Does it need more explanation than that?

@George-K said in Five Thirty Eight editorializes: How's this for an incendiary headline? Why Trump’s Racist Appeals Might Be Less Effective In 2020 Than They Were In 2016 Here are his racist comments: For example, Trump has promised to protect “the suburban housewife” from lower-income neighbors; threatened to veto a bill that contained a provision to rename military bases named for Confederate leaders; waved off the problem of Black Americans being disproportionately killed by police by saying “so are white people;” focused his campaign advertising on crime and protests; and repeated baseless, racist allegations about Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris. Apparently wondering if someone is native-born American is now racist. Nice job 538. This introduction is followed by a long deep dive into analysis of racial voting patterns, none of which mention Trump. And then, finally, there's this: Fast forward four years, past Trump’s reaction to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, cursing NFL players who kneel for the national anthem, referring to Haiti and African nations as “shithole countries,” and much else. The Charolottesville comment is linked to a CNN article which is patently false, as we've talked about many times. And "SOB" cursing based on racial bias? I suppose it could be worse, he could have called them dog-faced (that's a SOB too, amirite?). C'mon 538 do better. These received virtuous-sounding ideas are just lazy and disingenuous and not helping anything. They are hurting, in the aggregate. Good luck getting people to stop participating in the virtue chorus though. It's what a status seeking primate is wired to do.

I found this yesterday, it's a "different" way to spatchcock a chicken that looks easier. Use a serrated bread knife! Link to video I also have a frozen turkey breast that's itching to be made. Perhaps I'll spatchcock it and see what happens. LOL I haven't watched it yet, but based on the title, I can already picture Aqua in this video. (Not as the chicken!)

@George-K Hmm. I dont know. "Keep America Great" is President Trumps campaign slogan for the upcoming election. To me, it is kind of trolling a bit also. Anyway, both are funny.

@Larry said in Protestors surround, threaten Rand Paul and wife after RNC: Trump blocked flights from China before a single person in the US got the virus. Actually, between the end of January and early April, 40,000 people entered the US on flights from China. He restricted flights, but did not block them.

Society has worked long and hard to establish a barrier between MDs and non-MDs through which respect for one's ideas about all things health cannot pass. Your ideas are either respectable or useless based on that single threshold. Thus we have things like this, or another great example, those two ER doctors who owned the urgent care center who donned the lab coats for the cameras and claimed to have used all their extensive medical and scientific training to determine that people should definitely still be using their facility even though COVID.

Couple of thoughts: not wireless charging: swap phone connection to car when you get into car, swap phone connection to power bank when you get home wireless charging: get something to secure your phone to the power bank (Velcro strap, painter’s tape, etc.) so it stays correctly aligned with the wireless charging pad despite motions and vibrations of the car Good luck.

@Axtremus said in 5G - is it worth the premium?: @George-K said in 5G - is it worth the premium?: @Axtremus said in 5G - is it worth the premium?: Wi-Fi’s 802.11ax You just made that up, didn't you? Marketed as “Wi-Fi 6”, 802.11ax is already present in the latest iPad Pro, and you can buy “W-Fi 6” routers from the typical consumer electronics outlets today. Your new iPhone and future new Macs will have it too. There is no escaping it, 802.11ax will take over the world.

@Horace said in Jake Parker: Alleged Plaigarist: Huh. I guess the potential for a "the-ghost-writer-did-it" defense is abandoned. It's not even actionable if he never sells the book, right? Maybe alphonso played his cards too soon. I don't know. Where I'm at now is: Dunn showed his notes, exactly where his method of interpreting the fundamentals came from. Parker clams up, gets legal, but then never distributes the book? Then he's a lying ass dog. He provides some kind of explanation on his method of interpreting the fundamentals (notes would be helpful), okay, I'll be open to the "outrageous coincidence" defense. A huge strike against him is that Dunn's book provides techniques to learn how to do street sketches, not cartoons. Because that's what Dunn makes. Parker's a cartoonist.
