Whenever the left gets around to thinking about it, Indian folk will be resented for their appropriation of the skin color badge while exhibiting none of the cultural and political lockstep that's supposed to go along with it. Actually I think I just read an opinion piece on CNN about that very subject, written by a token Indian person who also happens to be a leftist True Believer.

State level politics. If our hair is on fire about every nutty GOPer in this category this one should rise to a four alarm fire.

Also google Obama Madigan to help Phibes who is keeping track of Presidents and their unsavory friends.

I saw another article saying substantially the same this morning I think. Prolly the same study.

I think Bach was suggesting substantially the same idea?

It's not the missing lessons that worries me so much as the impact on being in the house the whole time with only online contact

Well, probably not for too long a time at this point (I keep drawing comparisons to blackout drills during WWII), and the internet's not nearly the same thing but it does help.

I haven't seen my relatives at all this year and it really sucks. But, we do FaceTime once a week, and that helps.

That's quite pretty. I bet some exotic frog breeder would like to try producing more of those. There are people who collect unique frogs.

I can be happy with ordinary gray tree frogs.

I find it easier to control my diet if I don't have to deal with going into the office. I've lost some weight since working from home.

If you know how important the presumption of agency is, how ridiculous does that make all the permanent victim messaging that destroys that presumption? Is it evil messaging on the part of those smart enough to understand how much damage it does, but who also recognize the social power they can wield with it? Or is it ignorant messaging employed by high status echo chamber dwellers eating their virtuous marshmallow? I think it's short sighted ignorance born mostly of a competitive virtuousness, wanting to look and feel more moral than the next person.

I have a map of the United States. It's 1:1 scale.

    I hardly ever unfold it.

I also have an existential map. It has "you are here" written all over it.

I think I am inclined to participate in a vaccine trial for COVID-19, but like Klaus, I would want to weigh whatever information I can get to (1) get a sense of whether I can trust the people running the trial, (2) whether I would feel "safe enough" to take the vaccine, (3) whether I can give them the time they need to conduct the trial properly.

    Here's a portmanteau I'd never seen before:

    "Strewth"

"Struth" is usually how I've seen it. It's very common in Oz.

I don't see what the political damage is of doing a light convention. Still have it in person, but trim down the attendee list. Have the delegates run their process a bit differently.

Just change it - no one will care, and it doesn't look bad to say "we really wanted to do it in person... but too bad we can't"

I get all the NC drama leading up to this - but really, no one is going to care or remember.

I dont care a whit if they Wish to denigrate themselves in that matter, although that is a large part of the problem - self loathing and self defeating behavior.

But there’s no justification then to get all weeweed up up someone else does.
