Lots of people do not like what other people do with their freedom, but just putting up with it in the hope that others will also put up with what one does with one’s freedom.

I have a friend who is an ER doc who said that a woman who died in the ER might have lived if anyone, including the victim had thought to apply pressure to the wound. We seem to relish teaching people oodles of things they likely will never need to know - but first aid is one of those things it would be helpful to teach and refresh from time-to-time.

@jolly said in That FISA warrant on Page? FBI *knew* it was unfounded: Somebody needs to go to jail. Not gonna happen. The gummint protects itself. Why do you think that Director Wray is slow-walking subpoenas? That, by the way, is a rhetorical question.

A little vaccine goes a long way Last paragraph: "The coronavirus isn’t going away. It probably never will. But a little vaccination goes a long way to reducing the risk. Vaccinating just half a percent of Israel’s population should cut the fatality risk significantly, and just 3% will half it. There’s a lot to be hopeful about right now." https://twitter.com/dwallacewells/status/1340397154683269123

@doctor-phibes said in Move over, Elaine: I once had a girl flirt pretty outrageously with me over the period of a few days, and then never acknowledge my existence again after seeing me dance. At least she thought you had potential.

It's one of the most lucrative industries out there. They're still total geeks but they're certainly living comfortably.

@copper said in Thoughts on hybrids?: The Chevy Astro was the best car ever. I had 2, and drove each for over 14 years. They are no longer made or I would own my third. The visibility was the best, and you could remove the seats and carry a ton of stuff. ![alt text]([image: 1608570358360-15a6fe14-9059-4e88-a4d5-0c81dc3c37fe-image.png] image url) I learned to drive in its counterpart - GMC Safari. My uncle had one too - he would take the middle seat out, throw a foam mattress in and take us for road trips.

Nah. The agreement is five years old and invalid already. We need a better agreement and to keep the pressure on.

@horace said in To Mask or Not To Mask?: @george-k seems classic correlation vs causation confusion. I know. But if you dive deeper, you'll see that places with mandates really fared no better. What else could be the factors, he doesn't get into.

Before we moved to southern VA last year, I was lobbying for a house very close to that location, maybe 3 miles away. From the front yard you could see maybe 60-70 miles out to sea, from about 3700 feet elevation. It is beautiful, when the volcano isn't blocking the view with an ash cloud. I couldn't sell it.
