When a person is a member of a tribe the only way they can improve their status is to participate more fully and faithfully in the rituals of the tribe. Getting a tribal member to disagree with the any algorithm of the tribe is an existential threat to their membership and status. Therein lies the conundrum. Is the cure for the stupidity worth it? One episode left in Season 4. What a great ride. Very easy to follow yet chock full of political and societal questions applicable to today. Character development very very good. I am still ambivalent about Steven Strait as James Holden. I just don’t know. He’s got a Frodo on the way to Mordor thing going on and he’s uncomfortable to watch.
