Next time you are in Amsterdam and have finished the rounds of the coffee shops and sex museum, a nice place to visit is the old Amsterdam cheese shop

U can try different Gouda aged differently.

Fun. And good for munchies after ahem...said coffee shops.

But alas...still in pandemic. A trip to Amsterdam not in the near future for me.

Fun fact - Walmart has very little of the "low-end" connotations that it does in the U.S.

That's correct. The reason Wal-Mart is popular here is because it's close to being the only department store still operating. Even that Canadian icon of department stores, The Bay, appears to be on its last legs. When it is gone, Wal-Mart pretty much has the market all to itself. The one area in which Wal-Mart however did fail and, at least around these parts, has shut down is automotive parts and repair. Couldn't compete at all with Canadian Tire or the local tire, brake and alignment franchises and shops. I heard that one of the problems Wal-Mart had was that it couldn't attract qualified mechanics to come and work for them.

Frozen ginger cubes are another favorite of mine.

Got those too. Wild Fork. Also basil cubes.

    Nope. just in the oven.

Brined it most of the day. It was juicy and perfectly salty.

I had thawed out the last of the leftover cranberry sauce but I didn't want to use it.

At least it did not land on the other rocket.

You commented on the potential hazard a few days ago, iirc.

I thought I read however that the second time is much less dangerous as antibodies are doing their thing. At least in the few observed cases.

    Maybe. 😄

"Actually yeah, it's funny you ask that!" Oh wait, you were about to mention Trump here! Feel it out, would that be a— yes, that would be a bad move, a really bad move. And my God just how ridiculous is that? He was the president for four years for crying out loud and mere mention of his name would immediately tank this interview. I hate how dumb we all are, I mean I really—wait you stopped talking, you need to start talking again, they're looking at you. "Under the previous administration,"

He should probably go ahead and run for state legislature as a Democrat. That should restore his reputation.

@taiwan_girl said in Boycott for spreading misinformation:

Is it an opinion piece from the opinion pages?

If so, then we can easily find other news sources that often print or tell opinions that may not be agreed with by the parent company. Sometimes, they do that because they want to create controversy.

Doesn't that basically mean that they will spread misinformation for other purpose (clicks, political propaganda, fomenting social unrest, etc.)? A corporation does not get absolution because they only allowed the spread of misinformation on their platform.

    Serious question here:

What is the "root" cause of the high crime in US cities?

    Poverty?
    Guns?
    Cultural?
    all of the above?

Too much police funding Not enough guns
