@george-k said in Facebook! Thanks a lot.: Putting aside the lack of a basis for the earlier ban, the statement reflects that assumption that, of course, Facebook should be the arbiter of what can be discussed by users. Of course, Facebook is not ultimately the arbiter here. The arbiter is progressive pop culture, which puts a gun to Facebook's economic head, along with every other huge company. All those companies make the pragmatic decision to think and say and enforce exactly what the cancelation mob commands them to. America lives under the authoritarian ideological rule of the left and their indoctrinated masses. This all goes on in the plain sight of left-leaning, well-meaning people, but they're way too concerned with orange menaces to be aware of anything else. It's sad.

But, goes back to the original post - seems like a lot of focus on one guy who (may have) lied on his gun application and not enough focus on the 25-40% of people who buy guns with no ID or background check. Are they equally as bad or is one worse than the other? Why is a private sale bad? I dont think private sales are bad. Just wondering why they are treated differently public sales in terms of research and background required by the seller. How would you enforce the research and background check on a private sale? I have no idea. I am sure there is some method possible (maybe when you buy bullets, you have to have a check on you (I am guessing much less private sales of bullets than guns), maybe some type of free renewable license for guns (like a car license), etc) I dont know but seems kind of weird that this happens in such large quantities. Imagine if 25-40% of people wanted to vote with no check on them!! It's a private sale between two individuals. Try selling a pair of your shoes to your neighbor, but mandate a government background check. Nobody is going to do that.

I think that there are good movies from each year. But some are so specific to that particular time and year, that yes, if you go back 10-20 later and watch them, you think, "Wow, that isn't a good movie". To me, it should be more, "That was a good movie when it was made, but today has different interests, trends, different time of your life, etc, so it is still a good movie, but not today" (Hope that makes sense)

Unfortunate, but no surprise on the actions from mainland China. (I am not sure if Bhutan even has a military. A country I would like to visit one day. )

I think that is good. I am not really aware of it, but if a company is going to do something like that, they should be responsible for it and the consequence. I think it was mentioned in another forum thread that the show "Sixty Minutes" does the same thing.

A good study that proves the power of tribes and mob mentality. I doubt if these kids thought about it they would sign, although maybe they offered up personal agency at the alter of their tribe. Talk about a deal with the devil.

Actually a fair comparison. I suspect the LGBTblablahblah contingent would not find a warm welcome in Gaza.

QUOTE Indeed, they insist that the party of Lincoln now consists primarily of delusional members of the “Trump cult” UNQUOTE The media may be part of this, but the Republic Party itself is doing a good job to keep this going. Every time someone decides to speak against President Trump, their own party does everything they can to get rid of them.
