@jolly said in Pick of the Litter: I'm damned good at sizing people up. Yeah, based on your career history, I would guess this as well. I'm also pretty good at understanding what actually makes people happy. I'm gonna go out on a limb and further guess you didn't have to contend with a mid-life crisis.

@mik said in Thought Peculiarly Appropriate for TNCR: I think that, in the absence of real problems, you are about as happy as you make up your mind to be, I look for happiness, cuz trouble finds me without needing my help at all.

@mik said in Biden dichotomy: He seeks to end the death penalty while protecting abortion rights. Wow. So, just like pretty much every other country in the West. You might not agree with him, but there's absolutely nothing unusual about it at all.

I listened to him talk to me. Thus, I won Larry's bet. Much in the same way you "won" about the election - by cheating. You know damned well what I meant, and you know damned well I wasn't talking about a brief chat about the weather. We actually talked about politics. I believe this was in 2011 and he was on the radar as a potential GOP candidate. BTW I didn't "win" the election, the candidate I voted for lost fair and square, as did yours. Pretending to be dumb won't help you.

Hard to see Mcauliffe losing, IMO. That being said, these off-year elections do favor the candidates who have the most energetic bases, which Youngkin seems to have.

You can do a clean burn with lignite. There's a plant not twenty miles from where I'm sitting and you wouldn't know it was there if not for the transmission towers crossing the interstate. But it's relatively new, and built with scrubbers and such to purposely burn lignite. I suspect the Chinese aren't as clean with their plants
