If we go by the last SC, more than enough evidence exists to appoint a SC.

Well, if he's been available 24/7, he's certainly managed a cock-up of everything he is responsible for.

@mik said in Hay Bach! The count was off....:

Hence the count to account for every single item.

And the problem is when the needle count is off. Everyone searches through everything trying to find that missing needle. The "6-0" needle referred to in the picture is a very small needle, about ⅜" in size, and the suture attached to it is used for fine delicate work, like sewing a vein graft onto a coronary artery (though I've seen 7-0 used - even smaller).

Then there's the ophthalmologists who use 10-0 or 11-0.

We used to have one of these around - it's like a broom, but it's magnetic so it can, supposedly, pick up a missing needle.

I think I've only seen it work twice.

Needles find their way into the strangest corners, etc. Garbage bags, light handles (as in this thread), and the most-overlooked place: stuck to the sole of someone's shoe.

I looked at the chords for this song at ultimate guitar and holy crap!

16 distinct chords. Un fucking real. This will take a lot of practice. Switching between some of these chords in time and cleanly on the guitar, is damn difficult. Much easier on the piano. lol

That's the way it works, unless the bill is vetoed and then the veto is overridden.

    Sentenced:

The U.S. Marine who posted videos on social media criticizing military leadership and the Biden administration’s withdrawal of military assets from Afghanistan was issued a letter of reprimand and a forfeiture of $5,000 worth of pay for one month, after pleading guilty to all charges during his court-martial hearing this week.

Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller Jr. pled guilty to all six misdemeanor-level charges Thursday, including willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer, dereliction in the performance of duties and conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.

The judge, on Friday, said he would have given a two-month forfeiture of pay, had it not been for the nine days Scheller spent in pre-trial confinement. Scheller was freed from the brig last week where he was being held for violating an agreement to stop posting criticism on social media.

The judge said he does not condone Scheller’s offenses, but noted his 17 year USMC career, saying that prior to his social media incident, he was an officer with an outstanding record – a record, he said, he weighed heavily.

The letter of reprimand was much less than what was recommended. The prosecution recommended a forfeiture of $5,000 of pay for 6 months and a letter of reprimand. The maximum penalty could have been forfeiture of 2/3 monthly pay for 12 months and a letter of reprimand.

Sounds like he got off pretty light.

I have no idea what military jurisprudence is like, and how much latitude the court has in sentencing. The fact that the judge took his 17 years of service into consideration is interesting. That would never happen (would it?) in a civilian court.

@taiwan_girl said in Guess who's in da Howz:

@brenda Do they "hibernate" or semi-hibernate during the winter even when they are in the house?

I had some turtles, and even though they were indoor in the winter in a heated house, they seemed to know that it was winter and were very much less active and needed less food than in the summer.

If the house is very cold, they will burrow their tummies down into the dirt. Most of the time, they don't bother, because the house is warm enough.

Before bringing them in this fall, the temps were getting down to the low 50s (F) at night. It was like that for a few weeks. Now it seems nice and warm in the house to them, even though we don't have heat on yet. With the misting I give them to keep them moist and increase the humidity of their froggo house, they have begun to trill again, as if they think it's spring.

This could get interesting! Trilling is one of the signs they are ready to mate.
As hubby noted, we have them in a coed froggo house.
