Agree, but there has been ALOT of opposition to the Marines in Okinawa from the Japanese residents there. Politicians there for the last 30 years or so have been campaigning on this. One of the main initial points was the rape/murder of a young girl in Okinawa by three marines in the late 1990's or so.

There was a scene from one of the shows where his wife was supposed to make a trick pocket pool shot. I guess the plan was to cut the scene with a real pool player who would make the shot. Turns out (somewhat) by accident that she made the shot on the first try!. https://9gag.com/gag/aqyjezQ

@jon-nyc said in Kennedy’s lawyer petitioned the FDA to withdraw approval of the polio vaccine: That’s one way to avoid the question. But avoidance it is. That’s needlessly insulting, as I have already told you I haven’t studied up on his history. Do I trust your twitter feed to provide an accurate survey of RFK’s opinions? Of course not. But I am looking forward to the hearings, and I am sure the greatest dunks on RFK will be well represented. There’s a chance your twitter feed will have some reasonable points to be made.

I had no idea that this was originally meant for Bowie and Jagger. Honestly can't see how they would have made this better.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yd0zz5edqo Although not confirmed this is actually from Assad Assad's reported statement was put on the Telegram channel belonging to the Syrian presidency on Monday, although it is not clear who currently controls it - or whether he wrote it. In it he says that, as the Syrian capital fell to rebels, he went to a Russian military base in Latakia province "to oversee combat operations" only to see that Syrian troops had abandoned positions. Hmeimim airbase had also come under "intensified attack by drone strikes" and the Russians had decided to airlift him to Moscow, he says.

I particularly liked that grand piano. And his playing in the 4th minute. He co-hosts a Channel 4 UK TV show called The Piano, where they set up a nice steinway upright in various railway stations and see what turns up. Series 3 is imminent and the other night a Christmas special aired. A 94 year old gent stole the show playing an accompaniment to some woman singing Mel T's The Christmas Song. Simply lovely, forgot everything for a couple of minutes as I entered his musical world.

Word of anything spreads quickly in a school. If there was to be a fight after school everyone knew about it, but they were never staged nor serious.

https://x.com/sommecourt/status/1868595984055558451?s=46 Full text of the poem: The Hills of Bastogne The crops should be full in Belgium this year, The soil should be fertile, but the price has been dear, The wheat should be red on the hills of Bastogne For its roots have been soaked by the blood of our own. Battered and reeling we stand in their way, Its here we are, and here we will stay. Embittered, wrathful, we watch our pals fall, God, wheres the end, the end of it all? Confident and powerful, they strike at our lines, But we beat them back, fighting for time. Berserk with fury, they are hitting us now, Flesh against steel, we hold, but how? For each day that we stay, more mothers must grieve. For each hill that we hold more men must we leave. Yes, honor the men who will some day come home, But pray for the men 'neath the hills of Bastongne. -Bernard J. McKearney 101st Airborne

One of the subtleties of this piece is in the first two measure (!). It starts on the 4th beat of the first measure, and then proceeds. My teacher suggested that when I start it, I make a point of counting "1...2...3...4" before I started playing, and doing it twice. On the second time, the the first chord comes on the "4" and mentally, you're at the end of the count, and less likely to stress that chord. So rather than coming off as. One Two Three FOUR, ONE Two Three Four.... It comes off as... One Two Three Four, ONE Two Three Four If that makes sense.

@Mik said in Football today: We win, but man, it was about as ugly as it could be. So many Bengals’ mental errors. Bad ones. Why the Saints decided to go for two rather than live to fight again I will never know. Arrrrgh!

Oh yeah. In summer you did not see the San Gabriel mountains AT ALL, even though we lived on the upslope. Now it's clear as a bell.

@Jolly said in OnlyFans: Is a skimpily clad Only Fans model suggestively posing for the money men throw at her, glorifying God? Is she bringing forth good fruit? I need to do my own research before coming to a decision on this. It might take a while. I'd welcome any donations you Christian folk would like to send over to assist in this vital moral work for the good of both the nation and mankind as a whole. They should be tax-deductible.
