Yes, saying what would have happened if Presdient Trump was still president is impossible.

On on side, President Trump (in my thinking) moved the US back more into an isolationist type of mentality. So, President Putin would have probably done the same thing, maybe even earlier, thinking that the US would have a minimal response and would not have wanted to get involved at all in another foreign conflict. US relations with NATO countries were strained also

On the other side, President Putin may be like a lot of criminals - he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room, so he doesnt really care what is happening outside the bubble of Russia. He is going to do what he is going to do, regardless.

OK, DeWine is probably a good and reasonable man.

What this story describes is undoubtedly a good thing, and he deserves praise for his efforts.

But...

Leadership isn't about doing the easy thing. It's about doing the difficult thing. This decision is, though absolutely correct, easy.

It should indeed be illegal to try to harm Americans for their political views or who they do business with.

The idea of lawyers trying to shame other lawyers is just surreal.

All the scientists will tell you that that’s no way to propagate the species, but now that science has been debunked in a post COVID world, I’d say it’s worth a shot.

We need to make sure it is not.
