Here's an older guy fishing a three and half foot, 7 hoop net: [image: BillNelson2_300.jpg] Note the winch. Normally, you pull that size by hand. Looks to me like he's just finished his pull and had the net by the tail. You normally pull the front of the net first, but you can do a tail pull (it's easier to lose fish through the flues that way, but you do what you gotta do). I can't tell exactly what he's caught, but it looks like buffalo.

Question is, can we fix it? At military or civilian facilities?

Guggenheim Securities warned in a research note that given the size of the company — with a market capitalization of about $1.5 billion — and the possible liabilities if power lines started the fires, “it’s hard for us to imagine if the company will emerge from this tragic incident in its current form.” I bet some Maui residents will still want to use electricity.

Yes. I imagine the transition is very traumatic. Tell me more about the SF experience?

Their QB tribulations last year damn near made me a Cowboys fan. Almost.

@Doctor-Phibes said in Damn I wish he were still around: @Horace said in Damn I wish he were still around: In fairness, it's just a free speech spirit animal mantra. In our current political micro-climate, what you can write and read as an individual on the internet is fair play for censorship, but what libraries can carry is not. It's all principle-free tribal silliness. The noticeable thing about Hitchens was how non-tribal he was. He'd lay into anybody, whether they were liberals, conservatives or even nuns. Apparently Dawkins has slightly backed off of his sneering at organized religion. I wonder if Hitchens would have done the same. I think the past 10 years have provided plenty of observable evidence about what happens to human minds when a culture veers away from organized religion.

It bothers me that the scientist spelled it "yellow stone". Perhaps he's referring to a specific yellow stone he found while hiking one day.

It doesn't. I find AP to be quite biased at times.

Based on his interrogations of people testifying before Congress, the guy is very smart and a good speaker. You’d think he was a total clown, after the mind fuck that is a run for President.

I test drove one of Vinfast's vehicle. It performed well and nice for the short duration I drove it. But it also had similar trappings like the other EVs, such as a giant flat screen in the middle of the dash, like a vertically oriented iPad but much bigger, and that's my biggest complaint -- that big glass surface can be blinding to the driver when reflecting sunlight in the wrong angle.

That sucks. I used to watch them fly by all the time when I lived in Virginia. A very unique sound to them, you could tell when they were going from chopper to plane mode.
