In some cases they're encouraged to work part time, since that way their employer can avoid giving them as many benefits.

Are we going to be in a position where we're going to be able to see the next outbreak coming far enough in advance that we can shut down soon enough to not cause hospital saturation? I very much doubt that.

We should be able to take a shot at calculating the answer to that question now.

Hopefully that is part of the plan used to turn the world back on.

Yes, blocking kind of misses the point here.

Why, oh why, is President Trump wasting his time tweeting about stuff like that.

Is this really the type of person who should be having the most powerful position in the world???

(Yes, I know most politicians probably act like this in private, but doing it in public does not do him any favors or make him look better)

    He's a New Yawker...

    He's an UNFILTERED New Yawker.

    Well, true...

    Well, so. LOL

I guess I just dont get it.

I am embarrassed for him when he does stuff like that. I dont know if he truly thinks people are impressed or understands that many people are laughing at him, not with him. It just does not seem appropriate for a world leader to do.

Yes, world leaders are usually above that sort of thing.

It is nice to find a world leader who knows his place.

He is not above that sort of thing.

In fact he is not above much at all.

In that way he might remind you of Mother Theresa.

So they go from ordering mobile morgues (a smart, prudent, and unfortunately necessary move) to planning on digging mass graves in the park? Because that makes so much more sense than renting more mobile morgues or even commercial refrigerated trailers and/or shipping containers. Instead of trying to get the old Krasdale refrigerated warehouse up and running, let’s go straight to bodies wrapped in Hefty bags buried in the park.

There’s being prudent and planning for worst case scenarios and then there’s hell, I don’t even know what to call this, but the situation is bad enough as it is and doesn’t need public officials imagining scenarios orders of magnitude worse than it is and feeding those those same thoughts to a ratings hungry press and a confused and scared public.

I’ve seen some cool predictive visualizations based on this data and the R(0) of certain states. Some states have the R(0) down to close to 1 already. The models are pretty spot on 3 days out.

Thanks, @Jeff. I meant to ask how that “music” generates using the biology of SARS-COV-2 as input, compares to other “music” generated using similar method/algorithm using the biology of other viruses as inputs.

It seems I must have given the wrong impression Ax. I'm not the engineer who generated this musical interpretation. That would be Markus Buehler and his colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I apologize for the confusion.

I hate tapatalk.. But I've never tried to get on it and it be down, I've never had a problem editing, or any of the other things some have had problems with. Never saw a single ad, nothing. My problem with it is that if you get logged out it is pure hell trying to get back on again.

The Robin Hobb Fool Series - six books altogether. I figured I must have read them the first time round when we had toddlers, as I could barely remember anything about them.
