High degree of confidence says President.
-
Listen, whether right or wrong, how ANYONE can trust this guy as a source of truth is beyond me. For years now he has a clearly documented history of lying and making up shit on the spot, that even 3rd graders could see. Heck, even as clearly/recently as "I always knew this would be a pandemic" when a month or two prior it was "This will not be a pandemic".
-
Some people are going to have a massive internal crisis deciding whether the virus is a big con, essentially harmless or whether it was designed in a Chinese weapons lab. Could it be all three?
-
Wouldn’t shock me if it were true. Wouldn’t shock me if it weren’t.

What bothers me a lot, is that the Chinese CCP KNEW there was a huge problem, so they shut down travel internally, while letting their people travel around the globe.
How do you spin that??On that very point, I checked the CDC website and the State Department website ... I have not see any firm restriction on not allowing Americans to travel to other nations, despite many of the USA's member states having restricted travel internally.
Do you know if, at the federal level, the USA is prohibiting outbound international travel?
(If not, how would you like to spin this?) -

Is this some sort of equivalency argument? I can't believe you actually checked the CDC and State Department, unless your desire is to somehow protect the communist party CCP in your equivalency argument. Jeez, you must have a lot of leisure time, or, you perhaps an agenda so the time is worth the effort. Have you always been a communist? Just asking, as I know you like to ask questions a lot. -

Yes, this is not only "some sort of" equivalency argument, this is a very good equivalency argument. As to the purpose of my response, my desire is to help you do a little bit of introspection, help you think things through a bit more, in the hope that you will become a better person for it. I do not mind spending some of my leisure time on this because I still believe that you are worth that investment.Go ahead, think this through ...
Did the CCP knew there was a huge problem? Do the American governments know there is a huge problem?
Did the CCP shut down travel internally? Have the American governments shut down travel internally?
Do CCP let their people travel around the globe? Do the American governments let our people travel around the globe?
Do you think the CCP need to "spin" this? Do you think you need to "spin" this? -

I feel the same way. Evidence would be nice, though.

@xenon said in Coronavirus from Wuhan Lab:
What he said was not what was reported:
Earlier the US national intelligence director's office said it was still investigating how the virus began.
But the office said it had determined Covid-19 "was not manmade or genetically modified".
Here's what he was asked:
Mr Trump was asked by a reporter: "Have you seen anything at this point that gives you a high degree of confidence that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was the origin of this virus?"
"Yes, I have. Yes, I have," said the president, without specifying.
Originated≠Created or modified. His statement is not inconsistent with what the DNI said.

A senior U.S. intelligence official said Friday that the two scenarios being examined by the intelligence community about the origins of the novel coronavirus – via human contact with infected animals or as the result of a laboratory accident in Wuhan, China – are "both" currently supported by "evidence" that the community is continuing to evaluate.
"Evidence of both scenarios exists," said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, given the sensitivity of the matter. The official declined to further characterize the evidence or its credibility, or to say whether either scenario was considered by the intelligence community to be more or less likely. The official did, however, say there was no indication of a "purposeful" release of the virus.
The intelligence official's comments also add at least notional support for remarks made Thursday by President Trump, who said he had seen unspecified evidence supporting the theory that the virus first spread from a Chinese laboratory in Wuhan.
"at least notional support for the remarks..."
What the hell does that even mean?

OK. So, what happened is that an employee of the lab, or a member of his/her family, got into trouble with the CCP. In revenge, the employee cleverly stole a portion of virus goop, put it in a zip-lock bag, then went outside, opened the bag, and walked away.
No one knew the better. But as the virus spread, this person smiled. Revenge is such sweet victory!
It wasn't the government, or the lab. They are fishing in the wrong tree. It was one person, angry, period.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has led to over 910,000 deaths
worldwide and unprecedented decimation of the global economy. Despite its tremendous impact, the
origin of SARS-CoV-2 has remained mysterious and controversial. The natural origin theory, although
widely accepted, lacks substantial support. The alternative theory that the virus may have come from a
research laboratory is, however, strictly censored on peer-reviewed scientific journals. Nonetheless,
SARS-CoV-2 shows biological characteristics that are inconsistent with a naturally occurring, zoonotic
virus. In this report, we describe the genomic, structural, medical, and literature evidence, which, when
considered together, strongly contradicts the natural origin theory. The evidence shows that SARS-CoV-
2 should be a laboratory product created by using bat coronaviruses ZC45 and/or ZXC21 as a template
and/or backbone. Building upon the evidence, we further postulate a synthetic route for SARS-CoV-2,
demonstrating that the laboratory-creation of this coronavirus is convenient and can be accomplished in
approximately six months. Our work emphasizes the need for an independent investigation into the
relevant research laboratories. It also argues for a critical look into certain recently published data, which,
albeit problematic, was used to support and claim a natural origin of SARS-CoV-2. From a public health
perspective, these actions are necessary as knowledge of the origin of SARS-CoV-2 and of how the virus
entered the human population are of pivotal importance in the fundamental control of the COVID-19
pandemic as well as in preventing similar, future pandemics. -

IOW, Trump may have been right.
Yeah, that's always my main concern too.
Honestly, if you come out with as many theories as he does, you're bound to hit the target occasionally. It's carpet bullshitting.
