Uh, about that June wedding...

It's the same story, president says one thing, Fauci says another. One might think they'd get their stories straight first. After all, that's what Biden ran on, y'know?

What the hell do you expect him to say, June 20th at 5:12 am?
Msybe he could just talk inane bollocks for hours on end, and go on about what a really great job he's doing.
That approach seems to keep some people happy.
The thing about unpredictable situations is they're quite hard to predict.
Gibberish is gibberish, no matter if it's coming from Fauci or you.
You want certainty in life? You want total lack of risk? Ain't no such animal.
You, of all people, should know that...

Fauci isn't talking gibberish, he's saying he doesn't know.

What?
St. Fauci doesn't know!
Be still, heretic, or we'll burn you at the stake!

Saying 'I don't know' really isn't a problem, unless you're massively insecure and trying to pretend you're a lot smarter or knowledgeable than you actually are.

That's correct. And that statement is always right.
But, when everyone hangs on every word you say, it sort of undermines your credibility when you have to reverse yourself.
"Were you right then, or are you right now? Or, maybe, you just didn't know?""We don't need masks" morphed into "maybe two masks are better, it makes sense."
Had he said, "I don't know" back then, he would have earned a lot more respect.
But he didn't.
For the record, I don't know either. But I'm an ignoranus, and proud of it, I might add.

FWIW, early on in any novel situation, you have no way of knowing how much there is yet to learn. Often you make the mistake of assuming you've got the handle. Then as time goes on and the deal develops in new ways, you learn differently.
You don't know that you don't know, IOW.

No, I really wouldn't.
My problem isn't with people who say they don't know. It's people who claim to be experts when they're fucking clueless.

Some of us prefer to have opinions with non-zero information content.

Saying two people are idiots isn't zero-information content, moron.
