Uh, about that June wedding...

Fauci isn't talking gibberish, he's saying he doesn't know.
What?
St. Fauci doesn't know!
Be still, heretic, or we'll burn you at the stake!
-
I really don't see the point.
-
Saying 'I don't know' really isn't a problem, unless you're massively insecure and trying to pretend you're a lot smarter or knowledgeable than you actually are.

That's correct. And that statement is always right.
But, when everyone hangs on every word you say, it sort of undermines your credibility when you have to reverse yourself.
"Were you right then, or are you right now? Or, maybe, you just didn't know?""We don't need masks" morphed into "maybe two masks are better, it makes sense."
Had he said, "I don't know" back then, he would have earned a lot more respect.
But he didn't.
For the record, I don't know either. But I'm an ignoranus, and proud of it, I might add.

FWIW, early on in any novel situation, you have no way of knowing how much there is yet to learn. Often you make the mistake of assuming you've got the handle. Then as time goes on and the deal develops in new ways, you learn differently.
You don't know that you don't know, IOW.

You would have found it an issue a few month ago.
No, I really wouldn't.
My problem isn't with people who say they don't know. It's people who claim to be experts when they're fucking clueless.
-
@mik said in Uh, about that June wedding...:
You mean like Biden telling everyone we'll all get together for the 4th of July?
Yeah, he's a fucking idiot.

Honestly, it should be possible to admit that they're all fucking idiots.

Who are the idiots? Them, or us out here slavishly gobbling up their every utterance?

Some of us prefer to have opinions with non-zero information content.

Saying two people are idiots isn't zero-information content, moron.

Good question.

I'll be watching for you to praise, even relatively, compared to the competition, some American politician, asshole.

I've said more than once that I much prefer Biden over his successor, even though I think he's pretty hopeless. I also like Charlie Baker, our governor. I like him considerably more than his Democrat predecessor, as it happens.
Did you mean to put the comma in after the word 'politician'? Because in my opinion it totally mucks up the sentence.

Thank you. I wouldn't consider Trump hatred, the most banal and commonplace political opinion in the country, to contain much information, but I'm glad to hear that you like Charlie Baker.
