TNCR Pandemic Weight Loss Challenge

Down a pound from last Monday. That makes 11 pounds since I started this the first of February, (8 since we started TNCR challenge on March 1st). I had a beer with dinner last night (grilled chicken, green beans and a whole grain rice mix), first one in awhile. Funny thing was, I didn’t feel like I had been missing anything, and am now just as happy drinking NA beer. I have a lot more weight to lose, I’m going for 45 pounds total, and am giving myself a year to get there. That would put me back at the weight I was in vet school, which would be great.

I am down a couple of pounds. Now that the stomach cramps have settled down I will be able to focus on some exercise and drinking more water. This should help things move along...

Down one more pound this week. That’s 12 since Feb 1. Even managed to go out to eat twice, steak sandwich one night, salmon salad the next. I just have to plan, and be really careful the rest of the day. And best thing happened this morning, put on a pair of pants that were comfortable in January and took them off because they are now too big. Yay.

Woohoo! I am down a pound this week, too. I am getting the bicycle out this week.

No change for me, sadly.
I cycled 30 miles on Saturday morning. You'd think something would have happened!
-
It will.
I've lost a total of 4.9 pounds, big whoop. Something is not working. The good news is that I’m pretty sure I have FINALLY discovered the root of the sickness that has been plaguing me for all this endless time, and I’m hoping when things are better I can do better.

I would think that just getting back to cycling means building back a little muscle first. You may actually see a little weight gain at first. That's why there are other metrics besides weight loss that are important.
-
I have been told that muscle weighs more than fat - so as you buildit, you sometimes gain or stay the same (that’s why body measurements are helpful). I have been pretty successful at staying away from added sugar, (which is amazing, I have a massive sweet tooth) and that along with not drinking by calories so far seems to be working for me. I am active, but I am not concentrating on exercise at this point, just maintaining a calorie deficit. Once my two weeks post vaccine are up, I’m going back to the Y to start some weight training.
-
I'm also keeping at the Ab-wheel to try and build a bit of core strength. When I started, 10 reps left me in agony for three days, now I can manage 25 with little ill-effect.
-
I hate the Ab-wheel.
I'm starting to get definition in my arms and legs. I'm even seeing the beginnings of a horseshoe on my deltoids, which would be great if that is what I'm aiming for. But it's not. I still have the back and belly fat, which is what I really want to get rid of. Also I discovered that I have a lipoma on my left shoulder. So now I have to call Dr Pimple Popper to get rid of it for me.
-
I'm down 10 pounds over the last 3 weeks. I'm hoping to actually get down to 212 by the summer.
-
I've only gained about five pounds during the Covid era.
-
Scale says 2 pounds lower than last week, though it was only 1 yesterday, so at this point I’m just going to say one. I am finally starting to look like I’m NOT carrying my third child! . I even had some ice cream this week. I’m figuring out how to (and feel ok with) having a treat, or a meal out - but being super careful on the days before and after, so I can continue to lose. (normally, we have something in the house like brownies or ice cream, and I just eat it every day until it is gone. Now Steve gets to eat it until it’s gone and I just have a little bit, and I’m not even sad about it. Today is my 2 week post second vaccine day, and I told myself I would start back with some weight lifting at the YMCA. Hopefully will get to that later today. Haven’t been since last February!
-
My trip to NY and back on Friday caught up to me... I was 2 lbs heavier than my last weigh in.
-
I've been exercising every day with nothing to show for it and then suddenly today I've dropped a pound and a half over night. Not sure if it's an aberration.
Just finished a 26 mile bike ride. The rest of the day may well be spent complaining about having to do stuff.

I’m avoiding the daily weigh-in to avoid those day to day anomalies. I am back down to where I was two weeks ago before my sudden gaining of 2 pounds.

I do a daily weigh-in, always in he morning before breakfast, because it shows me the trend, and then I’m not surprised at the end of the week. Yes, the scale goes up and down a little, but that fact actually helps me keep on track. So for example if I go crazy at the barbecue, and the next day the scale has gone back up, just seeing that makes be extra careful for the next couple of days (and the scale reading goes down) So far, that’s working for me.
