Where are you getting this? Where are you seeing anybody saying these asshats shouldn't be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law? Where are you seeing blame being cast on liberals for this and any kind of justification? I'm not seeing that anywhere. I am seeing some attempts at trying to understand what led up to this. A number of the riots earlier in the year were clearly worse in their violence and horror than this week's outrage.
The difference is that the protests in Washington were a deliberate attack on the US government, and also occurred at least partially at the bidding of the President of the United States.
There is a difference. You can play Whataboutism all day long, and find odious things that Democrats have done, but it doesn't take away from this basic truth.
