Impeach him. Tonight.
At the risk of further incitement? Seems ironic.

Story retracted apparently but with a cryptic message that might indicate it’s just a bit premature.

He was beaten with a fire extinguisher. Only the fourth officer to die in the line of duty in the force's history. 42 years old.

I hope the "patriot" who did this is found and dealt with appropriately.

Shouldn't we arrest the liberals instead, whose antagonisms have brought us to this?
Not Trump and his "show strength" rhetoric of course. Trump's gotta Trump after all!
I mean the liberals. From the past. Who are apparently responsible.

Where are you getting this? Where are you seeing anybody saying these asshats shouldn't be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law? Where are you seeing blame being cast on liberals for this and any kind of justification? I'm not seeing that anywhere. I am seeing some attempts at trying to understand what led up to this. Are you saying we shouldn't try to understand what led to this?

Really? Because I also hear how this wasn't that big of a deal, akin to a goofy prank.

I hear people giving Trump a pass while at the same time ranting about the evil left. What the hell do you call that?
Man, if the shoe doesn't fit you the shoe doesn't fit you, I'm not saying you, LD, are spouting this nonsense. I'm saying blaming liberals for this more than Donald Trump is goddamn ridiculous.

I suspect you will find nobody on this forum who wouldn't like to see the murderer prosecuted to the fullest extent.

A police officer was murdered in Oakland, during the Floyd riots. Not far from where I live. I mentioned it here, but I don't think the post got any responses. It was just another day during those riots, and he certainly wasn't the only officer murdered.

There were several officers murdered, deliberately and with malice aforethought, during that time. Yet the protestors were deemed mostly peaceful.

A number of the riots earlier in the year were clearly worse in their violence and horror than this week's outrage.
The difference is that the protests in Washington were a deliberate attack on the US government, and also occurred at least partially at the bidding of the President of the United States.
There is a difference. You can play Whataboutism all day long, and find odious things that Democrats have done, but it doesn't take away from this basic truth.

It is far from obvious to me a completely hopeless attack on the capitol by a group of hopeless Trump supporters is of more gravity than a neighborhood in Seattle being taken over, or the long-term Portland riots, stemming from leftward cultural indoctrination. So I'll play some whataboutism. Obviously, the people who tried to attack the capitol are batshit, and were enabled by Trump's election fraud claims.
