I'm thinking the information on side effects of the vaccines will lead many to delay or not take the vaccine. The anti-vax folks will do their bit. From all appearances, this is an area where the administration has done an exemplary job of coordinating a ramp up and distribution system - but I wonder if more than 30% of the population gets vaccinated - not because of logistical issues - but rather the predilections of the US population.

That’s fine. I think you get a vaccine card and that lets your kids go to school, you go to malls, restaurants, places of worship, work, retail, airplanes and hotels. The anti-vaxxers can stay home and that is fine with me.

I will object loudly to anti Vaxxer being anywhere near my presence an app on a phone would be great.

As long as me and mine are protected and can go back to normal life, fuck 'em.

And then the vaccine-making business will mutate.

New ones will be developed daily.

On the other hand it might attenuate.

Frankly, I’m not all that amped to take a vaccine that has been fast-tracked through approval processes that exist for a reason, and I’m definitely not amped up to get my kids a fast tracked vaccine for a sickness that likely won’t affect them seriously. Yes, there are cases like George’s daughter, but those are the exceptions and not the rule... Before I make a risk/reward analysis for my family and our decisions, I need to see some numbers.

What numbers do you want to see? Adverse events at two months? Six months? A year? Two years?

My guess is the six month data will be available before you’d come up in the queue. Maybe even the 1 year.

                Only non-witches get due process.

The issue is if you don’t take the vaccine you can not just get it but spread to others who will eventually as it spreads find a deadly target. Also it slows this country getting back to normal which means high unemployment, higher taxes and eventually more people for losing their jobs.

Now see how that little fear has big downstream consequences? A butterfly flaps its wings in Chicago which results in a thunderstorm in the NorthEast.

Now if you are willing to isolate yourself permanently I say do whatever you want to do.

Once they do come out with one or more vaccines for the coronavirus, I hope they're safe. I hope they know enough about it before approving it. I hope they don't rush too fast, as I don't want to get a vaccine that isn't safe.

Yup. I agree with all of the above.

What they are doing is running processes in parallel. In other words they are committing resources to activities that in normal circumstances would be done sequentially, based on confidence the what would be predecessor steps will be successful. This is true of both the Pharma companies and FDA. It’s a very expensive way to approach an already hugely expensive process.

Interesting there are approximately 3 times in the letter, where Amazon was going to be helpful. If not 3, Ax will count and correct, or attribute meaning for the marginal sentences. Let's say 3.
                                  3 it is. OK, 3.

Seems he could have just added ". . . or else" after the first or second pledge for Amazon to help.

But then again, aging Joe might need things repeated a few times, and then hopefully someone in his cabinet will explain what "between the lines" means. Or Hunter, certainly he could explain if necessary.
