I'm going dressed as a democrat. I'll force the kids to give me half of their candy.

Goes to show you do not understand Democrats.
A real Democrat would apply means testing and use a progressive scale to force kids who acquire more candy to give him a larger share of their candy.

No candy tonight.
It's been 38 years since we didn't give out candy.

We had quite a few trick-and-treaters this year. More than ever before in fact.
Word must have gone round that my wife and not I am opening the door on Halloween.

Our church did a socially distanced Trunk or treat for the community. All the volunteers were temp checked, masked, and gloved. The candy was all purchased from a single source and traceable.
We had over 1200 kids in 900 cars come through.
Karla, Finley, and I did a Toy Story scene. Our parking space was done up as Andy’s room, I was woody, Karla was Jesse, and Finley was Buzz Lightyear.

While driving this evening I saw two teenagers ride their bikes up to a porch and dump the entire bucket of candy into their backpack. Does it make me an old curmudgeon that I was this close to pulling over and making them put it back?
Seriously, what trashy scum to do that.

On the flip side. We took our 2 year old out to walk around the neighborhood around 5pm. Lots of houses had tables and other socially distant candy options. Was very nice to see and I loved watching my daughters reaction to all the decorations.

You were just going to park and yell at them? Yeah man, I think that's squarely in middle-aged man territory. At least pull a gun on them or something, or threaten them with a 7-iron.
