He makes a good case for skepticism. No actual proof, but avoid all appearance...

Yeah. There isn't any real excuse for CA's ballot counting delays. One must at least realize that if it's not better by now, it's not better by choice. Then you have to imagine the motivations for the choice.

But idiotic bureaucracy can account for a lot of stupidity, so that always has to be part of it. "Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by stupidity" is a great rule of thumb. But this election stuff in CA seems more than that.

      Education is extremely important.

It is remarkable in this era of technology that there isn't a scalable, immutable way to hold elections, even via the internet. Maybe I should ask Claude to create a way then I can become as rich as @horace and eat from fig trees like the royalty I was always meant to be.

If we can do secure banking online I’m sure we could do voting. I have some reservations about making it too easy to vote though. It belies the seriousness of it.

How hard is it now, compared to, say, going to work five days a week or buying groceries?

            I was only joking

It’s not. But you have to do more than sign in and click.

Maybe we could subtly add a knowledge check. Like a captcha except to verify you’re human you have to click all the squares with branches of the government displayed.

A sneaky way to implement my desired voter literacy test. Whatever it takes. 😁
