Yeah. There isn't any real excuse for CA's ballot counting delays. One must at least realize that if it's not better by now, it's not better by choice. Then you have to imagine the motivations for the choice.
But idiotic bureaucracy can account for a lot of stupidity, so that always has to be part of it. "Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by stupidity" is a great rule of thumb. But this election stuff in CA seems more than that.

It is remarkable in this era of technology that there isn't a scalable, immutable way to hold elections, even via the internet. Maybe I should ask Claude to create a way then I can become as rich as @horace and eat from fig trees like the royalty I was always meant to be.

If we can do secure banking online I’m sure we could do voting. I have some reservations about making it too easy to vote though. It belies the seriousness of it.
