Colorado Snow Levels

Am in the West Kootenays rain forest north of Nelson right now. Hardly any snow this past winter. Not uncommon to get 30’ plus in winter around here. Locals are hoping for a very wet spring otherwise the summer will bring nothing but heat, forest fires, choking smoke and evacuations in addition to all the property damage that comes with raging wildfires.

I was tracking a completely separate metric a few days ago out in the Pacific that tracks El Nino... and super duper long story short, it looks like it'll be a very hot and dry summer, and somewhat mild winter. In other words... droughts and fires in the west. On the plus side, (another IIRC...) ocean hurricanes should be pushed away in the Atlantic more because of El Nino, hopefully that doesn't mean Gulf hurricanes are worse, though.
