Frankly speaking nor did I. However, Carlson seems to equate Zionism with Netanyahu and his current coalition’s policy towards Palestinian Arabs. I on the other hand, would suggest Netanyahu has hijacked and distorted Zionism in order to justify his ultra nationalist policies towards Arabs and Muslims in general. Despite his professed disdain for leftist political ideology that holds Zionism to be a form of racism, Carlson appears paradoxically in agreement with the Left on the matter of Zionism.

He placed his bets on the better bet. I mean, who knows who he'll be "supporting" next, but I'm sure Trump was the better bet than Kamala. He says that even now.

So boring. Russia bad is almost as boring as orange man bad. It's probably a little bit more nuanced than that.

Personally I don't give a f about Russia or Ukraine, but it sure is weird to watch the Manichean attitude towards that from a bunch of Westerners who don't know jack shit. If one has a personal connection, then they get a pass.

Even if there's an aggressor, whatever, you will still choose to throw your sons' lives at it interminably rather than accept new borders. Whatever. It's not as if the next generation will actually care, until you tell them to care.

At some point every thinking person chooses never to vote again, and then they think again, and they submit to the voting process. Or not.

Sure, Russia is complicated. On the other hand, there's not much nuance that I can see to Vladimir Putin.

However, Tucker Carlson becoming outraged on our behalf by how cheap supermarket food is in Russia is beyond stoopid.

I'm pretty sure that's not an accurate framing of what Tucker was saying. I think he was saying that Russia ain't that bad.

Having grown up in the post WWII glow, the 60s and 70s - the US was still the envy of the world - with the biggest and bests. We watched films of WWII that told us how our "industrial might" could be matched by no other nation. Our institutions were set the standards for the world.

That influence has lingered in our consciousness though less true - and in some cases, completely false.

Depending upon how one wishes to rate things, many nations have higher standards of living, better healthcare, higher citizen satisfaction, and even better image in the world.

Tucker's amazement that Russians aren't living a life like Ivan Denisovich isn't too far off from many American's perceptions - folks who visit China are amazed to see a country that seems a decade or more ahead of us in technology - a kind of culture shock when compared to our self-narrative.
