Russian propaganda squeezed into fan service for whatever boomers are still emotionally invested in the JFK assassination. I'm struggling to worry about the disinformation campaign.

Probably a majority of FoxNews viewers fit that description.

I'm sure you'll lose a lot of respect for them over this, now that Russia will gain control over their very minds.

I'm sure that having a member of Congress seemingly bought and paid for by Putin is nothing at all to worry about as long as she doesn't talk about anything important.

The notion that Russia owns the US via Maga is probably the silliest drumbeat on this forum. But I know it's fun to say, so carry on.

Any change of a single word in your magical strings of words that capture exactly the magic that you're thinking, is a strawman, as we all know. If your magical strings of words happen to convince anybody of the alleged strawman, well, that's not your fault, it's just their own misinterpretation. They are free to interpret your magic words that way, but pushing back on those interpretations is just intellectually dishonest strawmanning. I get the program, it's been the same for a very, very long time.

My favorite recent example was when I addressed your claim that Trump was "effectively declaring war on American cities". I referred to the claim twice, only the second time omitting the word "effectively". You immediately pounced on my strawmanning of your claim. There have been 100s of such examples, if not 1000s.

I don't mind that he went to Russia, but many of his other recent talking points have been crazy. I would no longer feel like saying anything generally positive about him, if his recent output was all I knew. At the time I said that, it's what I felt. I guess I could take the safer tack of never saying anything positive about anybody, but then I would betray a fear of being dunked on in this insipid manner that unfortunately pervades this forum, where everybody takes personal responsibility for the actions and opinions of any public figure they've ever supported. I think it's ok to develop new opinions over time, based on new information. I actually appreciate it when people do so, as long as I trust their motivations.

I think if Reagan came back to life tomorrow the tariffs might well be the least concerning aspect of the totally unrecognizable GOP.

Reagan might not have the tribal biases running through his head that would be triggered into imaginations of scandalous foreign interference, after seeing a probably meaningless publicity photo of some random diplomatic handshake.

I was envisioning him being exposed to his party’s stance on Russia in 2025 for this thought experiment, not just seeing a single photo with no context.

After all, he wouldn’t recognize this woman who was probably in elementary school when he lost his marbles.

If Reagan were in charge, how do you suppose he'd have handled the Ukraine war? Since we're speaking of thought experiments.

As opposed to Trump, he would certainly have taken Ukraine’s side rather than Russia’s. As opposed to Biden he likely would have armed them for a victory rather than a stalemate.
