If they have the votes, they have the votes.

In 2016 they had the ability to block so they blocked.

    Everything else is just noise.

    Yup.

Yup indeed. The law is the rules of the game. There is no notion of fair play worth discussing beyond those rules. Trying to imply otherwise is a commonly seen bit of tribalism and stupidity.

Yeah, all the excuses in 2016 were ill conceived and regrettable. They should have just said “we have the power to block any appointment and we are going to use that power in the interest of those voters that elected us.”Today they should say”we have the power to appoint a nominee and we are going to use that power in the interest of those voters that elected us.”

        Senate elections have consequences.

If it was a Dem held Senate in 2016, what would have been the results?

Good article indeed, and when you consider it was written 6 weeks ago it seems prescient.

Someone commented, referring to RBG’s alleged dying wish about delaying the nomination and vote that, if she were that concerned about the nomination, she should have stepped down when Obama was president.

But we all knew that Clinton was going to win, didn’t we?

As I said earlier, and as I said when Trump was running for President, her interjection of her personal opinions into politics cost her a lot of respect points in my book.

A jurist should respect the law and constitution, as written. To say that you're thinking about leaving the country if OrangeMan wins, in one statement, undermined any credibility she had.

The country is about to decide which path it wants to take. Packing the court 6-3 prior the election would seem surreal if Trump is slaughtered election night.

                                          There is not.
