So. Many. Memes... if we see a pic of Rachmaninoff in jail.

@LuFins-Dad would be fun to try and catch up when I'm in town. It'll be the week of Columbus Day....trip primarily for work, but dragging the fam along to see some sights the kids probably don't remember seeing when they lived here (heck, one kid wasn't even born yet when we moved!)

In the meantime, while people in NY and Minnesota are complaining and ridiculing federal law enforcement assisting in DC, the DC mayor is signing executive orders to continue and improve cooperation between District and Federal enforcement and is publicly admitting that it’s helping. And WaPo is right there with her…

I'm not saying it wouldn't help. I'm saying the crime problem isn't as bad as what Trump is lying about (shocker), and that it's overkill and silly to bring in these mine resistant vehicles, machine guns, and essentially the army. Watch the statistics after the publicity stunt is over rebound to where it was. It's a marketing/distraction thing that could be otherwise be addressed with smarter long-term approaches such as decreased red tape for arrests and increased incentives for hiring more local police. At least the gardening looks good, though.

It's working in El Salvador and other Central American countries are looking to follow the lead. We're dealing with the exact same people here.

Interesting. I wonder if they overcharged (assault with a deadly sandwich?) or if this is just plain jury nullification.

The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

She was fired for manipulating the crime data… I seem to recall that being a fairly important point a few months ago that people just denied or swept aside…

Not surprised. Sometimes the crime data falsifies itself when people lose faith that the cops will do anything about it. Like in SFO under Chesa whatshisname

Amazing how statistics go down when you ignore crime.

I thought the preacher cadence was over the top, but at least she's an actual preacher. But whomever thought it was a good idea to hire a preacher to do something other than preach, might be taking the preacher a bit too seriously. The word of God doesn't include instruction on how to be a good police chief.

                          Education is extremely important.

Anyone who falsifies data or lies to the public should be immediately fired.
