As I have said before, it is hard to believe that this is the best we could do to lead the country.

It’s clearly not but does show the risks of an election. In a weird way it confirms the process isn’t rigged.

Yeah, it does. It also speaks to his intelligence. He’s turned the political process on its head twice.

          More like lack thereof.

One wonders if anyone is contemplating whether Iran might use a cyber attack against the great satan. I always was disheartened when Condoleezza Rice was shocked that anyone would use airliners as weapons.

Interesting point, I wasn’t aware of that. In defence of Dr. Rice she was a recognized Russia expert and probably only had in process knowledge of the fanatical nature of the Islamic-fascism of Al Qaeda. I don’t think at the time she fully grasped the irrational and rabid mindset of the religious fanaticism of Bin Laden and his network of terrorists.

Likewise, I am not certain current US leaders understand the depth of the religious fanaticism that determines the Iranian response to US ultimatums, threats and military strikes against their theocratic tyranny. The God laden Christian rhetoric (actually, unmitigated B.S.) from the likes of Hegseth only fuels the fire and lends nothing to the mission the troops are being asked to accomplish.

It is a bit surprising that he does not seem to recognize a regime at least as pugnacious as he is.

A narcissist sociopath such as Trump will always seek to dominate others in all spheres of life. Call it tyranny. It works for them so long those victims they are reigning tyranny over accommodate their demands. There comes a point though that the accommodator begins to fight back often through being uncooperative. The narcissist tyrant cannot cope with accommodator’s uncooperative behaviour and sees himself as the victim of latter’s tyranny. I suspect that scenario is what is playing out in this war. Nato is refusing to accommodate Trump’s whims and demands and the Iranians are being wholly uncooperative by not surrendering when being told. Likewise we do not not know how accommodating the back rooms of the Pentagon and US government are in all this. Trump may very well be getting a first hand lesson on the real power behind the checks and balances on presidential powers robust American institutions actually wield. He is not coping very well at all because he cannot. It is that simple, he is too brittle for the role he has put himself.
