Would somebody lay out a solution to the problem?
We all close our eyes and say "I DO believe in Donald!"?
Again, just another dumb bustard without an idea.
I don’t recall you ever having a thought, let alone an original idea, on this matter that didn’t involve explosives, pyrotechnics and body bags or, as in this case, a state policy involving the forced mass deportations of people against their will. The approach suggests a rather unpleasant Stalinist technique for problem solving and governance. Not recommended for any modern liberal democracy, especially the USA.
I would therefore question your assertions and calling others here a dumb bustard*.

Insulting me might make you feel better, but it doesn't make Trump look any less stupid.
And I never claimed to have a solution. At least I'm honest. You think your hero really knows what he's doing?

Sure, it’s getting every Arab nation that is a signatory to the Abraham Accord - Trump’s single noteworthy foreign policy initiative during his first term - to rethink as to why they should remain a part of the Accord. It also gives Arab states currently thinking to sign on an opportunity to reconsider and decline.
Trump is effectively blowing up his own ME foreign policy success story.
Perhaps Trump should for once in his life do more listen then think and confine his talk to asking questions and trying to learn.

I have no idea how all this will play out, but it's generally true that if you do what you've always done you'll get what you always got. I don't think I would have said what he did, but Jolly is right that it will get people thinking differently. For a while.
It's odd that he didn't bring any of this up before the election. I suppose it's possible he was worried other people would steal his brilliant ideas.

Always good advice. My hopes that he would be more presidential have been dashed. I just hope this works out.

More like it that Trump was envious that since the ICC had arrest warrants out for deeds his friends Putin and Netanyahu accomplished, Trump too wanted to do something that would qualify him for the same high profile attention. Mass deportations and forced resettlement of whole ethnic populations seemed like a no brainier. After all, it worked for Milosevic.
He’s also really big on ensuring his own personal inclusion in competitions receiving international recognition. There’s always the off chance he might just win the attention he believes himself to be duly entitled.

Yup.
Saudi Arabia reacted swiftly and sternly to US President Donald Trump’s pledge to “take over” the Gaza Strip, reiterating no normalisation deal with Israel will occur until Palestinians receive their own independent state.
“The establishment of the Palestinian state is a firm, unwavering position,” the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a lengthy statement on X on Wednesday.
“His Highness [Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman] has affirmed this position in a clear and explicit manner that does not allow for any interpretation under any circumstances.

The equality of the 3 branches of government is certainly undergoing a stress test it hasn't seen in a very long time.
Agree. I think that the legislature branch has to become less of a "yes man".

Musk might argue with some evidence that the expense of the Senate and House is hard to justify. Might do better to have a 8-12 person board of directors. Of course, that would ruin their stock portfolios.

LOL. True.
Somebody made a comment that the reason president Trump did the announcement about tariffs with Mexico and Canada and then took it back was because people who knew ahead of time bet on the stock market to drop, so bet on that to make money.

There’s actually an historical precedent for such a governing body.
It was called the Politburo - an innovation of Lenin and perfected by Stalin. Later adopted by Mao.
Not by any stretch of the imagination an institution characteristic of any functioning liberal democracy ever on the planet.

Why stop there? Just one bloke would be much more cost-effective. Musk could then change his job title to Grand Vizier, grow an interesting moustache and start wearing those satin shoes that curl up at the end.

Hats off to Horace for at least some thought.

The reaction to this is absolutely hilarious. Here’s the secret sauce - Trump throws out a very bold and unconventional idea. People freak out. Trump doubles down, people freak out even more. Concessions get made. Maybe Trump gets what he wants, maybe he doesn’t, but he gets more than he had. Repeat ad nauseum…
But aside from that, what ARE they going to do in Gaza? Send 2 million people back into that hellhole that’s falling apart, with buildings ready to collapse? California isn’t letting their own residents back into neighborhoods that were burned down, why would we think sending Palestinians back to their shelled cities is any better? And what do we think is going to happen? The Arab nations have shown no willingness to rebuild Gaza or help the Palestinians. They also have proven over and over that there is 0 interest on their part for a true 2 state solution, so let’s stop that foolishness right now. You can’t seriously expect Israel to go in and rebuild the infrastructure AGAIN. All polls show the Palestinians still love Hamas. It’s insanity to keep expecting things to change when we keep doing the same things. The only real solution that I can see is for a third party to step in and administer Gaza, and that sure as hell ain’t going to be the UN. Especially after their groups PARTICIPATED in the frigging attacks?
A US administered Gaza might be about the only possible new solution, and it will be a bitch of a job.

Don't you get the the teensiest feeling that he's all over the place? Greenland, Canada, Mexico, China, Gaza, Inflation, Tarrifs.... and so on.
There's no strategy. It's just one "bright idea" being thrown out after another. It feels like those fucking annoying leadership courses where you have to sit in a room with a bunch of marketing weasels and build a bridge out of straws and rubber bands. Anybody with an ounce of common sense leaves the gob-shite in sales to get on with it and make an arse of himself whilst ensuring they're at the front of the line for the lunch buffet.
