I think his problem was that they were doing their jobs. Many fired were Trump appointees that had shown little hesitation to go after the Biden administration.

Yes, it’s illegal. Yes, it was a Friday night massacre.

I mentioned before how I'm enjoy many of the headlines as Trump doesn't hesitate to begin enforcing immigration law or restore biology to the government, but there is a growing trend of his removal of people not "loyal" to him that is concerning. Even in OPM there has been the removal of people whose very job is oversee transitions and ensure the government "HR" isn't politicized. I am optimistic this is just an abrupt "growing pain" as the administration sets down roots again, but the concern is growing.

Reagan fired about 15, and rehired 5.

Obama fired (at least) one, who sued saying his firing was politically motivated.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

People within the government fought him tooth and nail during his first term, often not on policy, but simply because Trump.

          Apparently, Trump can be taught.

He is not the king. The president "presides" over the executive branch. I have no problem with Trump implementing his policy, but just because someone objects to something doesn't make them anti-Trump. Sometimes they are just doing their job. His loyalty-approach is not healthy for the government or our country, generally speaking.

On a bigger picture, it is frustrating that the legislation branch has become somewhat "subservient" to the executive branch. It should be more independent.

The recent removal of the House Chair of the Foreign Affairs committee is a perfect example of this.

@taiwan_girl I am constantly amazed with how in touch you are with our civics. You're probably ahead of about 90% of our citizens.

Is she? Man I feel like a dope. I'm pretty bad at remembering where each person lives, but thought she travels a lot but otherwise lives in Taiwan. I thought this topic came up before and TG implied she knew a lot because of TNCR and international news often focuses on USA crap. What's the truth @taiwan_girl ???

She's an international woman of mystery who has no "home" per se. But as befits mysterious international women of mysterious mystery, she is citizen to more than one country, and she probably also has fake citizen paperwork for many others, issued by mysterious governmental agencies in support of her mysterious job duties.

If any of y'all listen to David Webb, he had a parade of Congress Critters on this morning. They're currently working in Florida and the deficit hawks are flying. They've been told Social Security and Medicare are off the table, but to take a torch to any fat they can find. Wasteful programs, duplicate programs at separate agencies, layoffs, reallocation of resources, clawbacks of funds not spent...The goal is $2T/yr.

They won't get that. They're going to try, though.

They have the smallest majority in the house in 96 years. The moderates will be the holdouts I suspect.

My best guess is they end up, after a lot of drama, with more or less the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta. Take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.
