There's a press conference on now. Apparently, he was an American citizen of Middle Eastern descent, based on his name. He did have an ISIS flag. They are postponing the Sugar Bowl one day.

FBI was busy trying to put a shaman in prison.
There are only so many resources...

An Airbnb where the suspect who allegedly drove into a crowd at a New Year's celebration in New Orleans was staying burned down, according to local news reports.
Newsweek reached out to the New Orleans Fire Department via phone and email for comment. Newsweek also reached out to the Airbnb communication team via email.
Nola.com reported that people were evacuated from the St. Roch area in New Orleans Wednesday morning after a fire broke out at an Airbnb. The site reported that law enforcement officials, as well as bomb squad detectives, were called to 1329 Mandeville Street. The Airbnb is about a mile and a half from where the attack took place.
Newsweek did not find a listed Airbnb at this address, but there are multiple in the area, including one across the street.
Local news station WDSU reported that a woman who lived near the fire arrived home around 5 a.m., and the fire department was already in the area.

Weird coincidence that this guy and the driver of the Tesla bomb both rented their vehicles from the same app.

I suspect it was Turo . Airbnb for cars.

Yeah it was Turo. I used it a few years ago when it was impossible to get rental cars. It met the need but I haven't used it since because rental cars are accessible again.

That whole interview is interesting. First off, he thought the FBI immediately saying this was not a terrorist attack was stupid. Second, he's going to hold the FBI accountable for this investigation with an intense focus on the truth. This is a man who does not want to be lied to or stonewalled.
It's a shame we have gotten to this point, where U.S. Senators no longer trust the Bureau...

The presser was pretty much a disaster. Lots of platitudes, grandstanding and posturing, no real information. Kennedy was the only person that made much sense.

Ah yes the FBI. It's a lawfare just-us organization that needs to be cut while also come on FBI why didn't you stop this?
Also, lost in the headlines, this happened yesterday too: https://apnews.com/article/homemade-bombs-seized-virginia-firearms-c68488480ef8bd3de7b432272399aa28
No, I don't work for the FBI. But I have friends that do, and you would (or wouldn't?) be surprised with how much they thwart beforehand.

Not really what I was expecting. I wonder how much of this was mental health as opposed to religious fanaticism.
