Picture perfect weather predicted for here, high 70's, clear, very low humidity. Probably a couple small cookouts with friends. Our association is putting on a very large fireworks display tomorrow night.

Today will be tough as we are saying goodbye to Chloe in a few hours. She's been in acute kidney failure and nothing we have tried has improved her quality of life. We knew when we adopted a 14 year old cat that it wasn't long term, but we have done what we committed to do - giver her the best later life we could, and she us.

Off to MO this Sunday. Hopefully won't be doing much till then, though I have heard rumblings that we should go to some "cute little town" to spend Saturday.

            Sorry about Chloe, Mik.

We plan to maximize outdoor time, too. Low dew point and sunny will mean we can go outside without sweating our butt off! Probably a long run (with running stroller) tomorrow, might walk around DC on Sunday, and hitting a local beach on Monday.

Sweat. In this humidity, a lot.

MO? If it’s actually Missouri I just happen to know a very cute town outside St Louis called Hermann. Lots of wineries and stuff. BIL was city manager for a while.

The cute town visiting would happen here in the bay area on Saturday, before I leave on Sunday. I suppose it's criminal that it doesn't occur to me to just drive up to Napa.

Napa is great. Gott's for burgers. Sausalito is great too, but will be too crowded tomorrow.

So you are going to Missouri?

Yes, dad is having surgery and the family is gathering to help out with various things. I'm flying, intended on driving but I don't think it makes a difference to the COVID risk.

I grew up in WI but my parents retired to MO long before I left. They live just outside of Joplin, near where my dad grew up in KS. I will be to driving them up to Kansas City where the surgery is taking place, so that's where I'll be next week.
