Napa is great. Gott's for burgers. Sausalito is great too, but will be too crowded tomorrow.
So you are going to Missouri?

Yes, dad is having surgery and the family is gathering to help out with various things. I'm flying, intended on driving but I don't think it makes a difference to the COVID risk.

I thought they were in Wisconsin. What part of MO?

I grew up in WI but my parents retired to MO long before I left. They live just outside of Joplin, near where my dad grew up in KS. I will be to driving them up to Kansas City where the surgery is taking place, so that's where I'll be next week.

Sorrowful news about Chloe, Mik. She is a very cool cat. From the beginning I loved all your stories about her.

Make sure they get their surgery estimate in writing.

I'll be laboring too. Plan to clear out stuff in the garage. Key word being "plan".
Horace, have a safe trip.
Mik, condolences on Chloe.

Best wishes for successful surgery, Horace! Keep us updated please.
Mik, as Jolly's said, "Pets leave paw prints on your heart." I have wept for every pet we've lost.

Thanks, all. It was heartbreaking, but still the right thing to do. Her lab numbers for kidney failure were the highest my vet had ever seen. She had no chance for any quality of life.

Off to MO this Sunday. Hopefully won't be doing much till then, though I have heard rumblings that we should go to some "cute little town" to spend Saturday.
Sorry about Chloe, Mik.

Never mind. You're too far away. It's worth an hour drive maybe. Not 4.

Maybe for some other time on a weekend, take the dogs with us to a pet friendly cabin. Thanks for the suggestion. Tina loves beaches, I'm sure they have some.

If you want to head north Jenner has some nice cabins at the mouth of the Russian River. Fantastic restaurant too. Rivers Edge I think it is. Not far from Armstrong Woods, great redwoods without the crowd of Muir Woods. The

If you did a weekend in Cambria you could hit Hearst Castle too.
Cambria, Morro Bay, Hearst Castle. Not a bad little weekend out. Even during Covid.
