Interesting how we perceive age. US Grant was Secretary of War at age 37. Hegseth is 44.
Agreed, I've mentioned before it was surprising how youthful NASA was during the 60s space race. For example, the Flight Director (played by Ed Harris in Apollo 13) was like 35 when he was in charge of all the apollo missions.

Elon's views...
He's not wrong, for the most part. I'm not smart enough to know the solution, but cutting federal spending on government agencies seems like a drop in the bucket to tackle the bigger issue of growing crippling national debt, the looming social security crisis, etc...

So let’s keep pouring buckets of water into the boat to sink it faster? The debt is one issue, Social Security another. Neither will get fixed so long as the we continue to let the easy fixes go unchecked… If we see the Government actually fix the spending problems, the people will be more likely to take on the challenges of the Ponzi schemes and debt crisis.
I do expect Trump to remove the Social Security cap, which will help take care of Social Security for the time being. I do wonder if he is

Rumor - Bongino to run Secret Service.
That sounds like fanfic. Why would Bongino leave being the heir apparent for Rush to take a government service role like that?
I could see him advising, but not leaving his budding media gig.

Agreed. That's why I found the appointment of TuCa astonishing.
Well, one of the reasons...

I thought the same about TuCa.

A charitable reason is that TuCa thinks he can make a difference for the good in the position. A more cynical explanation is that TuCa recently started a company that sells nicotine pouches, which he's marketing with a political slant. His competitors are big contributors to Dem campaigns. I'm sure it's some of everything. But how much is he making on youtube and X anyway?

Press Secretary is a complete different level of prestige and such. Tucker can go back to his podcast stuff later (or even continue?) But being Press Secretary is a move up for him. For Bongino, that's a downward move.
