Is that real?
THat's the headline.
Here's the story: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/story/jd-vances-wife-childless-cat-ladies-spin

She no doubt only mentioned that he didn’t mean to insult childless people who were trying to have kids.
I doubt she reiterated his intention to insult childless women who weren’t trying. What would be the point? She was sent to clean up, after all.
I doubt she reiterated his position that step parents aren’t real parents either, for the same reason.

I'll double down. Vance is backing up for political purposes, but there is more than a grain of truth in what he said.
Childless cat ladies are bad for the country. They've bought into the siren call of career and the commitment free hook-up culture.
When they've been run through by many guys through the years, when the career ended only with the contents of a cardboard box and a small retirement party soon forgotten, when there is NOBODY to take care of you as you grow old and nobody that really loves you, where is your joy?
What have you done to create family, to further society, to nourish your own soul? When you're gone, are there enough people left that care enough about you to even carry your casket?
Not all women are meant to be mothers. Not all women are meant to be wives.
But...The most stable societies are not composed of lonely cat ladies, but of women who had stable marriages, who nurtured and raised their children to be good adults and who have given of themselves to their families and community, making the country a little better place.
Maybe it's time we quit worrying about the cat ladies and start worrying about how we're screwing up the next generation...

Sorry, don't see a bunch of controversy here.
Maybe y'all don't have families?
If you have a family where the grandmothers contribute significantly to the care of the grandchildren, you'd know that that is not unique to the Indian society.

Cool. Let him shout it from the rooftops.

I think many know Vance's story pretty well. Before the campaign is over, I'm sure a majority of Americans will know it.
I don't find J.D. weird. I find his story inspiring. I also find his take on family dovetails with my own views and the views of many Americans who are trying to get ahead and raise a couple of children in today's world.
You may not agree with the guy's politics, but I've seen him interviewed and seen him taking questions several times. The guy is intelligent, quick-witted and personable. I'm looking forward to the VP Debate.

For all practical purposes, I was raised by my grandmother.
Look how I turned out.

It would be fun to watch Trump reimburse the DoJ for that performative lawsuit.

I’ve likely walked more dogs on a leash than anybody else here. That’s often how I hold the leash if the dog’s well trained or a smaller and weaker dog.
The dog does look a little excited as it’s a new environment, but that’s normal.
