        Trump signs in his yard?

Granted he lived with his parents but he’s the only republican in the house.

One detects the faint whiff of hope in the air, hope against hope, that the attempted assassination of Trump can be blamed on Trump.

Signs were taken down months ago. Who wants to bet that one of the parents is proTrump, one is anti-Trump, and there has been strife…

Probably the only Democrat who registered as a Republican. That happens, you know.

ETA: As has been said before, a lot of people in PA are registered "Republicans" so that they can vote in GOP primaries - presumably for the weakest candidate.

I heard about someone who allegedly knew him say that he was a really bad shot and was embarrassed about it. Not sure if that's true at all.

But this could be as simple as him going after the most high profile target in the world to disprove those who made fun of him.

There doesn't have to be a political explanation.

No, one is choking on the vast plume of hope (assumption, really) that the assassination attempt can be blamed on the outgroup’s rhetoric even though there is not yet any evidence he was caught up in that.

Weird stuff. He clearly knew he would be killed - and that was at least part of his goal. He wanted to be remembered - and he achieved that as well.

There might be some projection there, as you are IMO more concerned with rhetorical talking points than most, and that concern extends to whether your out group has access to good rhetoric. Witness your wishcasting about a piece of glass hitting Trump rather than a bullet.

It’s not even that important what motivated a single arbitrarily crazy person to do something. The social effect of the rhetoric we are all surrounded with can hardly be judged by that, one way or another. We can each hold our own truths about whether the best of us express our goodness, and discernment of evil, with edgier and edgier hatred and disgust for Trump and his supporters. But the scent of the TDS patients is not quite as rosy as it once was.

                                        Education is extremely important.
