Saw a cybertruck in the wild
-
Tonight in La Jolla.
-
Damn, that thing is ugly.
-
@LuFins-Dad @89th Agree on the ugliness. Also, the ability to see out the back seems quite poor. I think that sales of this truck will quickly go downhill.
-
It looks like something Robocop from the 80s would be driving around in.
-
Just saw my first. On 66 West between 50 and 28. (Fairfax County)

Cybertruck owner says he's stuck with a vehicle that's too big for his parking spot, and Tesla won't let him return or resell it
-
That’s on him not on Tesla.
But a no resale for one year provision in the contract? Kind of creepy.

Not really. It’s wrong, but not really creepy. They’re trying to prevent the whole Xbox thing where guys buy all of the new game consoles being released, then resell them for 2-3 times the original asking price. The goal is good, the method is not.
-
Ahh. That makes sense.

Didn't know that was a thing. Wow.

If something is on a relatively small release where the supply is far outstripped by demand, there will always be those that try to profit from it.
In this case, though? I would think Tesla would/should be willing to broker a deal for the guy. Offer it to the next guys down the line (nobody at the front will take it, but you still have to make the offer) then work your way down the list. Offer it at 95% the price of a new one. When it sells, Tesla takes 5% as a processing fee.
